What are you getting your teens for Xmas?

Quite early but like to start early. Ds has asked for an iPhone 11 which is definitely not happening as the price is extortionate. What are you getting your teens for Xmas as I really have no clue. He has an iPhone 6s right now.

I've worn it my whole life and never had paint thrown on me. In fact most people I know wear it. Out of interest, are you vegetarians?

I'm vegan and sickened that people are still buying and wearing fur.

Pinkyyy · 22/10/2019 17:10

@HandsOffMyRights that's fine, you're entitled to think that. I'm sickened by the way a lot of vegans behave too.

SpookilyBadOooooooh · 22/10/2019 17:19

No bloody idea!! 14 yo only just had her birthday & that was hard enough. She just says she doesn’t need anything... which is lovely, but fuck all help and come Christmas morning you really can’t not have got them anything 😖🙄 Younger ones have lists as long as your average ski slope🤣

Janaih · 22/10/2019 17:21

not a clue, lurking for ideas!

MonChatEstMagnifique · 22/10/2019 17:40

you're confused. It wasn't that I didn't realise about fur. It's that I didn't realise it was so overwhelmingly hated.

Really? Just had a look at some of your other posts. I found this one from you on a thread about fur:

I realise that real fur is quite widely frowned upon now but I just think each to their own really

So it seems you did realise. 🤔

Pinkyyy · 22/10/2019 17:48

@MonChatEstMagnifique why are you advance searching me? I've told you I didn't want a debate about fur and you won't leave me alone will you.

I'm not stupid and I know it's frowned upon in lots of places but I didn't know it was in a 95/5 type of proportion, more 50/50 as I've already said on this thread.

You're dragging up things I said on a thread that's got to be a year old. Leave me alone.

That's a bargain, I wonder if it's national. I will pop in tomorrow and have a look.

FrenchyQ · 22/10/2019 18:20

DS13 a Nintendo switch lite with a couple of games...(his birthday is in November, so that is joint for both)

Then probably some smellies , pjs etc.

We wanted to keep it small this year as we always end up buying them stuff that just sits in a cupboard

MonChatEstMagnifique · 22/10/2019 18:21

why shouldn't I be allowed to call it what it is?

Of course you can. But you can't then pretend to be surprised when you get a reaction.

Anyway, I have nothing else to say on the matter and I'm watching 101 Dalmatians with my daughter and niece. I do love that film. Wink

Cornishmum00 · 22/10/2019 18:25

Laptop for dd 15, ds 13 wants a couple of computer games

Lolly34h · 22/10/2019 18:28

Ds 14 is having a gaming chair and a ps4 controller custom thingy that I completely dont understand. Dd 17 is having money. They also both get the deodorant sets and pjs and nice bits I see when out shopping. The expensive bits like the chair and the money are sorted so it's just the little bits left for the big ones now. And to top it off the littlest one whose almost 2 is also officially finished!

BlaueLagune · 22/10/2019 18:51

Pinky are you from Denmark? I think the Danes consider fur to be more eco-friendly than plasticky faux fur and other man-made materials.

But there is no way I'd wear it in the UK. I think you've got away with it because everyone just assumes it's not real.

Getting back to the thread, driving lessons but other than that I have no idea! DS has said he'd like some new trainers which I have ordered, so I'll keep hold of them for his birthday. And he supports Liverpool and I was there a few weeks ago so bought a shirt in the shop there.

SpottyDressingGown · 22/10/2019 19:24

DD is easier to buy for - hair things - just seen the BaByliss Multi with crimping (how is that coming back?) straightening & curling capabilities.

DS's are hard. Onsies, older one will get a couple of switch games and younger is going abroad so mostly stuff like a power pack to go with that. Maybe a new backpack.

TeenPlusTwenties · 22/10/2019 19:39

So stocking fillers for 15yo DD? Not into makeup etc.

Felt tip pens
Body sprays (Charlie/Impulse)
What else?

Bouledeneige · 22/10/2019 21:27

Re stockings I tend to include:

  • designer undies
  • socks or tights
  • PJs or slippers(if required)
  • toiletries
  • bath bombs
  • a book
  • a jokey present like a wind up bath toy
  • accessories (easier for a girl)
  • chocolate orange
Plus other novelty sweets
marmiteloversunite · 22/10/2019 23:00

Thank you for this thread I am already being nagged by Grandparents wanting to know what my teens want. I have no idea. Just had their birthdays. Wish I had kept it all smaller when they were little. Big boxes were satisfying to wrap but now everything is small but expensive.

Keep going with the ideas please!

Themazeoflife · 22/10/2019 23:02

Stocking fillers

Face masks
Nose strips
Mini perfumes
Mini note book and pen (ted baker have nice ones)

IggyAce · 22/10/2019 23:10

My dd 13 has asked for friends Lego, make up Nike leggings and perfume.

Each year I do her a pamper hamper: face mask, hair mask, bath bomb, shower gel, body spray.

My dd and her friends seem obsessed with So body sprays, so a gift pack of those might go down well.

SnowsInWater · 23/10/2019 01:59

DD (16) needs a new laptop for school which is an absolute pain as she doesn't really want one but it has to be her main present as it's too expensive to be a "just because".

She would like GHD hair straighteners, some expensive trainers, books and make up. No other family around so no option to outsource some of her wish list!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 23/10/2019 07:16

@TeenPlusTwenties EMP is great for games/tv/movie merch so maybe try there?

GloriaMumsnet · 23/10/2019 08:54

Hi everyone, we're hoping that the Christmas spirit can continue on this thread, otherwise we may have to end up closing it which would be a shame. Thanks StarStarStar

milliefiori · 23/10/2019 13:26

For stocking fillers, they will each get:
a paperback book
earbuds
fun socks
sample scents from their favourite brands (you can buy 5ml testers online)
food treats
stationery bits - notebooks, highlighters etc
book marks
phone case
sparklers
accessories - wristband or cufflinks or bootlaces etc depending what they are into at the moment
nice bubble baths
facemasks
shaving/grooming stuff
adapter leads and plugs as they are always losing/ruining theirs and mine
chocolates
