Teenage DS has just asked me something

He is 17 and wants his girlfriend to stay the night ,in his room . Gut instinct is no ,what do you all think ?

But he's lovely plenty. They would be lucky to have him. [Grin]

But a lot could change in the next 5 years i suppose.....

OP i think it's just lovely that you and your son have the kind of relationship where he feels comfortable asking you.

Aww, he does sound lovely. Did he at least get his room tidied while he was waiting for you to make up your mind?

Does this make his girlfriend a bit of a minx though-about to lie to her parents?

Or, sparklingbrook it could just mean that she has very strict parents.

I lied to my parents in relation to my boyfriend on a fairly regular basis. I got excellent results at school, did not have a teenage pregnancy and generally feel that I turned out okay.

My parents might actually have been more accepting if I'd told them more. Which I would have if I felt I'd had the kind of relationship with them that meant I could be open with them. I didn't tell my mum I was on contraception until I was well over 20. We just didn't feel comfortable talking about these things.

Glad you checked this out, frumpet. I'd definitely say no until she gets permission from her parents.
