Sounds good to me. I have my nose clip ready Wink

Hooch if you can do a 2 hour round trip London with the horrors, anything is possible! Glad you're ok. That was quite a dramatic fall overboard x

Day 3 here. Boards at the ready ladies.

Hooch hope you feeling better today.

HoochiMama · 03/07/2017 10:58

Well done Ponz. I still feel terrible, possibly worse than yesterday. It always hits me more after a good sleep for some reason. Sitting at work feeling totally spaced out, can't wait to feel normal again. Will be surfing for the foreseeable future! Have a good day ladies x

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 03/07/2017 13:44

Ground control to planet Hooch Hope you feel better soon! BrewCake

Let's cheer each other on for a clean week; keeping it real and feeling normal is order of the day. Smile

I got very French yesterday afternoon and made a total dick of myself!! Think I feel as bad as you today hooch!!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 03/07/2017 19:10

I'm sure it's not as bad as you imagine Serial. I think you have The Fear. A common ailment after a skinful.. Wink

I once got v. drunk years ago after work, did several lines in the toilet and then gave a long lecture to my boss on how to run his company. I still cringe now. What an idiot.

Briefly entertained the idea of going overboard after work and then remembered Hooch's Head to Toe Horrors......I think we can all use your experience Hooch as motivation!

Oh it was bad Lost!! It involved a messenger conversation that has made me CRINGE today! Basically I became so French that I turned mancunian and demanded to be adored ala Ian Brown!! I have no off switch at all. Felt really ill this morning and was quite possibly French until about 11.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 03/07/2017 21:01

Oh dear Serial I would have laughed Grin. I find just pretending to yourself it never happened helps. E.g.: the Oven dish debacle which is now just a vague memory/possibly a dream.

What to do about our lack of off switches? Could we all start carrying a small hammer in our bags to hit ourselves over the head with? We need more strategies.

OP posts:
HoochiMama · 03/07/2017 23:14

Well I'm glad to hear my experience stopped you today Lost, it truly was from head to toe and horrendous!

Never mind Serial, the memory will fade and you will be able to look back and laugh. I seriously need to find my off switch don't think I have one.

Feeling almost better but got work drinks tomorrow which I could really do without. Will be taking snorkel, wet suit and inflatable dingy!!

ponzusoup · 04/07/2017 09:10

Day 4 here. Glad everyone feeling better after weekend shenanigans.

Strategies hmmm here's my ideas:

Exercise
Yoga tim
Don't buy any!!!
Come on here and vent
Make a decision every day not to partake and do no revisit it
List the negatives - health, wealth , mood
Long term damage to brain chemicals
Be extra extra careful when drinking

I had some almost every night up to Friday last week. 4 days off and my brain has actually stopped hurting. I'm getting less grumpy/ shouty with the kids, my mood is so much better , sleep is better ,...

Keep your nose clips close ladies.

Xx

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/07/2017 09:26

Love your strategies Ponz. Exercise does help. I think my running slow jogging does help to lift my mood and if nothing else I'm so knackered on those days, I can't wait to get to bed!
Making a decision every day resonates with me too. Sometimes if I'm really craving, then saying to myself "not today, maybe another day" helps. I'm not sure if that is the best long term approach Confused but hey ho.

It sounds a bit twee, but I'm glad you're in a better place this week Ponz. x

Hope your work drinks don't escalate Hooch. Inflating a dinghy during the evening is a good plan. The curse of the free after work booze..

Have a day off today so I'm washing all my sofa cushions. Oh the glamour!

ponzusoup · 04/07/2017 14:25

Thanks lost. Slightly jealous you are engaged to hooch 😆

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/07/2017 16:27

It might not last, she keeps going off to work do's while I'm at home washing the sofa.. Grin
I've transformed my house, now twiddling my thumbs.

serialtester · 04/07/2017 21:19

That hooch is a bit flighty lost!! I heard she was eyeing up the maid of honour!

ponzusoup · 04/07/2017 21:23

I think there's some general flakiness going on in these arrangements ladies.

On another note I feel weird. Definitely coming down over several days from daily use. Got awful stomach ache, light headed, bone crunching exhaustion. Wobbly moods. Can't work out if menopause or downer !

serialtester · 04/07/2017 21:43

I bet it's a downer ponz. You'll feel better soon.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 04/07/2017 22:45

Sorry you're feeling a bit rough Ponz. My moods sometimes go all over the place after hitting it hard. I found all the emotions a bit hard to cope with at first after being so reliant on my old faithful mood adjuster. I swear I didn't cry for about 5 years when I was using a lot.

Although you could actually be coming down with something. It's hard to tell with us lot as we're quite used to feeling like shit after a session Grin
Not sure if that's funny or not really.

I'm now in bed with a clean fresh sheets. (Small non drug related thrill). Night all.

HoochiMama · 05/07/2017 09:47

I am sooo hungover again! I'm boring myself now Angry Think I might go teetotal don't laugh Didn't go overboard but feel like I did. Do not give me any sympathy...

Hope you're feeling better today Ponz Flowers

HoochiMama · 05/07/2017 14:04

On the plus side everyone else in the office is hanging so don't have to pretend to be ok for once which is refreshing Smile

ponzusoup · 05/07/2017 15:02

Hooch hope you've had some carbs and broken the back of the working day.

I often think I should just give up all substances including alcohol to see how lid could be! The struggle to keep them all within acceptable / manageable / non life fuckupable limits is just exhausting. At least if we were teetotal that would be that!!!!

ponzusoup · 05/07/2017 15:03

Life. No lid.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/07/2017 16:28

I'm renaming you IDon'tDoThingsByHalvesHooch Grin Hope you're drinking lots of water [mother hen face]
The heatwave is back!

I want a job in your office, where it's acceptable to be hungover! The guy I sit next to took the train one morning as a precaution because he'd had some NightNurse the night before! Shock

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/07/2017 16:32

I've been craving a strong drink and a line all afternoon. I don't know what's wrong with me, maybe it's all the sun tricking my brain into holiday mood.. Having a Wednesday wobble.

OP posts:
serialtester · 05/07/2017 16:55

It's the sun. It's having the same effect on me too!!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 05/07/2017 16:59

I definitely might go home via the pub.
