Fuschia reminds me of the 80's and the 80's are best left forgotten!!

motherinferior · 11/08/2005 18:47

I once, long ago in the days when I was young, knitted a jumper that was half pink half black, vertically divided, you understand.

It was the early 80s and I was a student lefty, but I realise that only goes part of the way to redress my crime.

I hope you had spiky, gelled hair and ill-advised stripes of blusher

myturn · 11/08/2005 18:48

Lol!! Did it have batwing sleeves too??? And did you wear it with matching legwarmers??

snafu · 11/08/2005 18:48

Please tell me it had batwings, MI...

Papillon · 11/08/2005 18:49

dresses over trousers or jeans looks fantastic imo

I love dd in a dress and baggy pants

What about black t-shirts with colour on them? And is not khaki often black with colour combined?

myturn · 11/08/2005 18:49

Great minds....

and human league-esque assymetric haircuts

myturn · 11/08/2005 18:50

And don't forget the white shirt with the skinny attached black tie...

snafu · 11/08/2005 18:51

Does anyone remember those shirts that had 'tails' at the back, so they hung down past your (batwing) jumper? My grandmother was horrifed when i wore mine.

myturn · 11/08/2005 18:52

I was very, very close to my brother so when he brought his wife-to-be to meet me she knew she had to impress me. So she bought me...

leg warmers - lovely pink and lilac angora ones...

And I was well and truly won over.

motherinferior · 11/08/2005 18:52

Of course it had batwings. I wore it with longjohns I had tiedyed myself, and I cut the most revolting spikes and semi-mohican styling into my hair.

I was young, I was stupid, I was a student lefty. What more can I say ?

myturn · 11/08/2005 18:53

Snafu, I don't 'remember' any of this.. was far far too young you understand. Just recalling what I have been told....

bundle · 11/08/2005 18:53

i used to cut the arms off silky polo necks from jumble sales, make them into legwarmers and wear the polo. aaagghhghghghghghgh

myturn · 11/08/2005 18:53
Grin
bundle · 11/08/2005 18:53

sigh. beautiful, motherinferior, beautiful.

myturn · 11/08/2005 18:54

And no-one has even given the Dynasty style cheap shiny blouses with HUGE shoulder pads a mention....

myturn · 11/08/2005 18:56

Oh, that was just me then....

motherinferior · 11/08/2005 19:00

No, but I committed many, many other crimes.

I actually made a pair of purple woolly leggings out of stretchy patterned fabric I bought in Oxford market once.
