What do you NEVER wear due to body limitations?

For me it has to be polonecks- although swan like of neck, a sagging jawline and large bosoms make me look ridiculous.

skirts. NEVER do them.

TiggyR · 31/05/2010 23:09

I agree about bias-cut skirts - the devil's work. And I think I'd have to be practically anorexic before my legs could carry off shorts.

tulpe · 01/06/2010 00:15

I think this depends largely on where you are presenting yourself to the public. For example, I wouldn't wear a bikini to a public swimming pool in the UK but I would wear one on the beach on holiday. I wouldn't do school run in short-shorts or denim mini but, again, would wear on holiday.

ITA re: bias cut skirts. They do favours to.....erm......nobody and they are cut to either make you look big of hip of stumpy of calf.

I love silk camisoles as outer wear in the summer months but my sagging (but petite) breasts make it a no-no.

I have realised that low-rise jeans may be cool but Boden's mummy-rise cut (not hipster but not high either) are my real friend

TiggyR · 01/06/2010 00:20

mummy-rise cut is essential. You know it makes sense.

Cant wear strappy tops, halter necks or strapless. Being of ample bosomage even the best scaffolding cannot compete with the weight it needs to hold when they are set loose!

TiggyR · 01/06/2010 00:35

I once bought a ridiculously be-sequinned shoulderless ball gown for a special 'do'. It had a specially reinforced, scaffolded, strapless top which I thought was man enough for the job. I went out that night feeling a million dollars but when I saw the photos, I realised looked like I had secreted an entire sideboard in my bodice. It made my chest look twice its normal size.

cyb · 01/06/2010 10:32

can I just add spaghetti straps as a No No for ALL

Coderooo · 01/06/2010 10:33

lol

TheBossofMe · 01/06/2010 10:36

Leggings - slightly bandy legs, which are for some reason as obvious as a nun in brothel when I wear leggings but not at all obvious when I wear tights.

mslucy · 01/06/2010 13:42

crop tops (shudders)
not a good look after 2 c-sections
strappy sandals - bleeding agony on my wide blister prone feet

TiggyR · 01/06/2010 18:05

Turtle necked tops due to short neck, double chin and weak jaw.

Ankle straps due to cankles.

God, I'm a real catch, me!

sue52 · 01/06/2010 19:05

Anything that exposes my upper arms. They are looking a bit flabby these days.

mrspear · 01/06/2010 19:13

Leggings - i am pear shaped with a large bum and thunder thighs

minipie · 01/06/2010 19:34

Ok here we go

Things I don't wear due to large and cellulitey thighs:

  • leggings
  • skinny jeans
  • short skirts
  • short shorts

Things I don't wear due to being short:

  • cropped trousers
  • maxi dresses (they look good, but are always too long)
  • long cardigans and jackets
  • ankle strap shoes

Things I don't wear because I have a waist and don't want to look pregnant:

  • smock tops

I live in boot cut trousers, fitted tops and fitted dresses.

herjazz · 01/06/2010 19:44

harem pants. I look like i've got a cock

TiggyR · 01/06/2010 20:15

minipie, I live in the same! loose fitting style or low waisted is crap for me. Shows the huge sized of my arse and my tits but hides my decent middle bit!

herjazz

Actually I have to be careful with all trousers but jeans now due the dreaded camel hoof. Being middle aged sucks.
