I think they're often unflattering as finish at the widest part of the thighs.

People buy them to make themselves look slimmer but often end up looking bigger.

They do have to be long enough. if they stop atthetop og my thighs they look awful. If they are a few inches longer they look OK.

I don't wear leggings or trousers. I wear them over frocks

I got one but it made me look big fat and shapeless so I gave it to my gran for christmas. She loved it (she is 94 btw) and said it was lovely and kept her bum warm.

I did wonder how they would work on larger more shapely ladies, I bought mine in the UK and am not quite as twig-like as Herbie but not far off.

But when I combine my cardigan with the pockets, plus my dress from H&M with the pockets over leggings, I do think that it is not a look designed to flatter many!

Shopping with my mother (83) yesterday, she was looking for a cardigan but commented about the boyfriend styles that she certainly wasn't having one of those as they were an "old granny" style and she wouldn't be seen dead in one.

[total tangent alert] thank you thank you thank you for the recommendation for headsprout (all over mn when I searched) - DS (5, bilingual) loves it and has already made loads of progress.

His younger brother (3.5) wants to go on it too but I have said he will have to wait a year (not that that means anything to him!).

Problem is, there are parties on MN in S&B who have been running around recommending boyfriend cardigan + leggings + tunic as the ultimate in mummy chic. ALL. OVER. THE. PLACE.

I must have read about 20 threads where poor clueless woman comes on and says "I only wear trackie bums and fleeces - I need a style makeover) and then EVERYONE says "leggings! Boyfriend cardigan! Birkenstocks! Tunics!"

Jamie, we are looking at using Headsprout with children who are bilingual and/or have learning disabilities-the kinds of kids who have been written off as readers.
Headsprout was not designed with LD population in mind but as so well designed, it is yielding stupendous results.

oooh - you can research my children if you would like!

they must never ever ever under any circumstances be buttoned up... which in my opinion makes them somewhat useless as an item of spring clothing...

I have been in SE Asia for a month (far longer than anticipated due to bloody air problems) and I knew the whole time they were at home waiting for me.

Ripped parcel open in manner of excited 4 year old and they are bloody gorgeous.High, but not too high, really comfy, just lovely. I was going to start a thread but felt noone would be interested. How kind of you to ask.

Even thoguh i am really ill today (I think I got food poisoning on the plane yesterday) I am wearing them with my flannel pyjamas.
