Who is buying into this hideous thing? Don't people realise tis nowt but a sham?
Noone under 25 with the body of an angel looks good in anything large and shapeless.

kimono - that mjust include both the longness of boyfriend and the wings of bat. How humungously perfect

JustMyTwoPenceWorth · 26/04/2010 21:46

what the buggery bollocks is a boyfriend cardigan?

I remember batwing jumpers. I had one. Wore it with a puffball skirt, if I remember correctly. I'm sure it was a purple batwing jumper, or was it yellow and a spotted puffy skirt. yes, I have a horrible mental image of myself in something very like that.

God I must have looked a twat.

Greensleeves · 26/04/2010 21:46

well, I don't live there now [bullet from gun emoticon]

but most of my family still do!

not mow cop though, various other places dotted about longton, stone, newcastle, madeley etc

pointydog · 26/04/2010 21:47

my mo-bat was circa 1985. I think I have probably always been a little behind the times.

A researching clinician? Are you a salt at the same time?

moondog · 26/04/2010 21:49

85 was still 'en vogue.
My grandmother used to knit amazing jumpers for us. Amazingly hideous (althoguh our choice of patterns so she was not to blame) but also amazingly complex knitting.)

Yes PD.

Am loving the moniker 'mo-bat'

pointydog · 26/04/2010 21:51

bring back the mo-bat. Let the sweaty suffering be available to all

mowcop · 26/04/2010 21:51

I am up Mow.

And this is said cardi

pointydog · 26/04/2010 21:52

voluminous indeed

moondog · 26/04/2010 21:53

So true Pointy.
Brings bACK MEMORIES OF PERSPIRING gently in grandparents overheated front room watching '3 2 1' and thinking 'When will my life actually start?'

OP posts:
moondog · 26/04/2010 21:53

Mow that is quite nice actually (althoguh callling it a 'tape knit' brings to mind 'tapeworm').

I don't like this trend for "boyfriend" clothing. Surely the point is to steal your actual boyfriend's hoodies/cardigans/jeans to slob around the house in and his t shirt/shirt/boxers to sleep in and it's the fact you are wearing his clothes, because yours have been flung somewhere unable to find, that makes it sexy (or something). Because clothes designed for men don't tend to flatter any woman's figure.

[Says she who finally caved and bought a large snuggly hoodie just for slobbing around in, because she hasn't got a boyfriend or any male friends to steal one from any more]

Greensleeves · 26/04/2010 21:55

Bertie it is called "possessive ornamentation", wearing his clothes apparently, and is sexy because it highlights the physical differences between you, the his clothes look different on your figure

manufacturing "boyfriend" clothing is scraping the barrel really.

pointydog · 26/04/2010 21:56

dancing a slow number to cars 'who's gonna drive you home' while hoping the spotty bloke doesn't move his hands off your arse and up to teh heavily-sagging wet furry wings of your jumper

pointydog · 26/04/2010 21:56

yes, greens, every woman wants to feel tiny compared to her man

moondog · 26/04/2010 21:57

Yes Bertie.
I like the'PO' twist.

I have liberated dh's fleece to wear around the house and to aerobics, but trust me, it is not a good look at all (partic. when teamed with crocs which you wil lbe releived to know never leave the house).

Effect is of bright red nylon tent.

fio, the posh part? There is nowhere posher than up Mow!

BeenBeta · 26/04/2010 22:10

Boyfriend cardigans, boyfriend jeans....

Its just clothing that is too big for you that should be on a market stall. It may be big, but it is definitley not clever.

Teenage girls think it is cool but they just look a mess. Just don't.

Batwin pink mohair jumpers on the other hand. Now that takes me back to my courting days with DW.
