I have the 20 percent discount code and a voucher but, the Spring catalogue isnt inspiring me, has anyone bought anything thats not something too middle aged and really loved it?

You might be struggling trying to find something not too middle-aged from Boden!

faustina · 15/03/2010 08:58

if you take small sizes, the johnnie b skinny jeans are brilliant - a million times better than the adult ones.

BariatricObama · 15/03/2010 08:59

the twist top is really nice

BariatricObama · 15/03/2010 09:02

here, feels nice and looks nice

The merino smock top thingie is okay (tunic I should say). I also bought the purple gathered front top that Caroline Quentin was wearing over a white T in the Torygraph yesterday - hmm - not sure about that look.

Have to say, was discussing with my sister who has bought nowt this season, that even those items a good £20 more than they would be elsewhere - so even though I got them at 20% off in the preview they were still a bit pricey. I like the plain 'favourite' v neck cardis with contrast buttons but at £50! (okay just under). You can get M&S Autograph cashmere for that.

SerendipityAlways · 15/03/2010 09:41

I bought one of the cropped cardigans in pink - lovely quality and a definite keeper. Its a cotton and wool mix so no bobbling! This is the type of item you should have in every colour, and I can see myself getting lots of wear out of it over the next few months. Also have ordered the breton striped top and the fennel tunic so looking forward to receiving them. Overall I think you're better off sticking with plain tops/cardis etc as some of the patterned stuff is just too much. I dont live in the UK and while some of the stuff is expensive at least I dont see anyone else wearing it! The quality of the clothing is also excellent. Happy shopping!

I bought the pink cropped cashmere cardi last year and, have to admit, it has been very handy so, thats an option. I dont know, the shoes are always too small and overpriced. I just dont want to end up buying childrens clothes, they get enough!! Mind you, even the girls stuff is pretty uninspiring this year and, there doesnt seem to be hardly any of it!

I bought the merion tunic, the fave cardi and the jersey dress in floral print.

None of it here yet tho. Have high hopes for dress as it is a 5 week wait which is usually a Good Sign.

Suspect cardi may be too long. Was tempted by cashmere cropped cardi but v expensive and only wearable with dresses really.

Agree tho not an inspiring range. I have had £70 of vouchers waiting to be spent since last Nov

purplepeony · 15/03/2010 13:06

I bought the cropped cash cardi in marine blue and like it. Got 20% off.

tulpe · 15/03/2010 13:38

I have the Johnnie B skinny jeans in soft red and they are fab. Wore them yesterday for the first time, attempting to rock something of a nautical vibe with metallic pumps and a breton shirt.....

I also have the long sleeve stripey tee in blue/white. Great fit - long in the body and sleeve.

In the main range, I am tempted by the a-line cotton skirts and the Hamptons cardi (think that's the name) but I just don't want to pay their prices at present.

duckyfuzz · 15/03/2010 13:44

I have this dress which is super flattering and easy to wear, also have some satin plimsolls on order - they have been recommended in Red magazine and the Guardian fashion measure thingy

kittya · 15/03/2010 14:26

I bought their animal print plimsols last year and I always get compliments on them. I have ordered the satin ones theres a 6 week wait and I ordered them ages ago. I hope you went up a size as their shoes are always small. The trouble with cropped is that they dont hide anything!! I always find their Aline skirts flattering but, I havent seen any this year. Its actually a very boring catalogue. The colours are far too bright, look dated.

Ps ducky what size did you get in that dress? I really want something I can go down to the pub in without looking like Im going to a wedding or to a school open day, if that makes sense.

OP posts:
duckyfuzz · 15/03/2010 14:34

I got a 12 reg length, I am 5'7 and it falls on my knees, so perfect length for me, skims tum, I would wear it to the pub, school run or work I think

duckyfuzz · 15/03/2010 14:35

and I got the green one, it seems less formal for some reason!

lotty5 · 15/03/2010 16:03

I also bought the tea dress, but in pink, best thing out of the whole collection

kittya · 15/03/2010 17:31

Is it true they come up big? maybe I could buy a colour I can wear with boots now.

OP posts:
lotty5 · 15/03/2010 18:07

Not too big that it looks baggy, flattering on top and skims from empire line

kittya · 15/03/2010 19:05

Ive ordered a long one in pink. I read somewhere that small prints are more flattering, I think!!! I noticed they have changed the way their reviews are shown, about time too!

Where did you get your 20% voucher then ?

duckyfuzz · 15/03/2010 19:27

hope you like it kittya!

kittya · 15/03/2010 19:38

LNDT until the end of the week.

Even my poor old mum has given up on Boden now, said its the same old stuff every year. I do like the occasional Summer dress though, I think the trick is to dress them down so that you can wear them everyday. Which is a shame, considering how much they cost.

Their jeans are very lovely quality though.

OP posts:
kittya · 16/03/2010 13:09

Im now considering the cropped cardigan to go with it

OP posts:
Coffeebeanz · 16/03/2010 13:16

Thanks !

Did the 15% off last week and got a new cardi which I think I'll keep... still waiting for a dress.

Its really annoying when they have all these codes flying about, I just wish they would forget them and lower the prices for all !

ArcticRoll · 16/03/2010 13:35

I have this in pewter-it's not too 'bodeny'
