I have the 20 percent discount code and a voucher but, the Spring catalogue isnt inspiring me, has anyone bought anything thats not something too middle aged and really loved it?

I wish they would do skinny jeans in the adult catalogue besides the straight ones whih are neither here nor there. And its ok him saying the clothes dont show cleavage but sometimes you wish they would! my dress should come tomorrow. Im curious to know what the cropped favourite cardigan is going to be like as well.

I am nervously awaiting arrival of these; I bought a pair of boden cords a few years back which gave ne a bad case of 'camel toe' and haven't dared buy trousers from there since

I very rarely buy anything other than kids' clothes from boden tbh, I have almost always been disappointed by the womens stuff; one notable exception being a bikini, which is comfy, flattering and still looks great nearly 2 years and many wears later.

I have just sent back the merino tunic too.
I cant see anything else worth ordering - even though I am middle aged.

I think there has been a real deterioration in quality with Boden, so am unlikely to bother to order again.

kittya · 17/03/2010 22:33

Its just the word tunic that makes me think middle aged but, even my mum wouldnt wear one. Its just not fashionable enough. I like their cardis and I have some dresses from last Summer which I wore to death and they still will be ok for this year. Im waiting for what I hope will be another one in the shape of the tea dress as everyone says its the best thing in there. I went to Oasis today, and they had some really lovely tops in gorgeous mint greens and purples, and I thought to myself, this is the kind of thing Boden should be doing. Something abit with it!!

Now wondering about a crop cardi.

Fave one is nice and cheap but cashmere one looks better in outfit maker...v neck better for me than crew neck.

@ £79 for a cardi tho. Even 20% makes it £64 that's a bit much really...

kittya · 18/03/2010 23:04

Its strange the dress never came today but, the cardigans did. The fav cropped is every bit as nice as the cashmere version and you can get two for the same price. I am a 16 round the bust though and I dont think I will beable to fasten it all the way with anything more than a cami under it but, I dont usually fasten them all the way up. The favourite full length cardigan has unusual buttons, my friends have already said nice things about them both so, Im pleased!

My Johnnie b skinny jeans ( Pinky/orange and denim) arrived today - much much nicer than standard Boden offerings, also blue stripey hoodie thing, which is lovely too and has an orange stripe around the hood that matches the jeans. The exciting thing was that the web site had told me I'd have to wait about 10 weeks for the jeans, so they must have had some new stock in or had some returns.

Sazisi · 19/03/2010 16:08

My flare chinos arrived today, and they are fine a very good, flattering fit (even in the crotch area ) I got them in navy.

veryconfused what size are you normally, and what size are you in Johnnie b (trying to deduce whether or not I'm dainty enough to try them..)

veryconfusedandupset · 19/03/2010 16:22

10, now - but they are a small 10 at 30R

fishie · 19/03/2010 18:38

veryconfused and other johnnieb owners, pls tell me about the colour and size. are the red pink or orange? what size are you?

fishie · 19/03/2010 18:40

v sorry premature posting. skinnies i mean, and how can they be a 10 at 30" waist, that is normally a 14.

duckyfuzz · 19/03/2010 19:20

sazisi I like the look of the flared chinos, so might go ahead and get some now you have tried them - how tall are you and what size (if you don't mind sharing!)

tulpe · 19/03/2010 20:01

fishie - sorry, didn't see your question until just now

I am usually a size 8 or 10 in Boden trousers - depending on the cut.

I agree that ordinarily I would have ordered the 27" waist but someone else on here said how small they came up so I sized up to a 28 and 30 (ordered both to compare sizing) and the 30" was perfect.

I really don't understand it either - I guess the cut of the jean overall is a slimmer cut than the women's range .

The red skinnies are more red-orange, imo but muted rather than dayglo They are brighter than I expected but they will fade with washing.

fishie · 19/03/2010 20:06

thanks tulpe. right then, no way i am squeezing my 25bmi into them.

Sazisi · 19/03/2010 20:40

thanks veryconfused, at size 12 it looks like I'm too big for johnnie b

Duckyfuzz - I'm size 12, and just under 5'7, the 12R are perfect length with flats. The material is nice, and they are very well finished too - am surprisingly impressed.

duckyfuzz · 19/03/2010 20:44

thanks, I'm 5'7 and 12 too so that's particularly helpful!

kittya · 19/03/2010 22:26

the dress still hasnt come. I think if you order just one thing they send it by normal royal mail. Shame. Still, its going to rain this weekend so I will just stick to boring jeans.

OP posts:
veryconfusedandupset · 20/03/2010 13:37

They are very tiny - they are for teenaged girls, not grown ups really, and on the reviews people who are size 6&8 are buying the 28s. The pink/orange colour is really more orange than pink, it is a really lovely colour sort of "hot". I feel a bit sorry that the smalkl adults will be getting these jeans at a bargain VAT free price, and the cuddly teenagers won't be able to get into them!

kittya · 21/03/2010 20:17

Im still loving that spend 30 get a tenner off code, it seems to have been on there for ages.

horridhobo · 21/03/2010 21:26

Fab sandals - patent leather - are nice but haven't worn them yet for fear of having blue feet!

kittya · 23/03/2010 14:25

The tea dress will be handy but, it is nothing special. Its brown and red as well which wasnt how it is described. If Id have paid full price for it I would have sent it back. Its very thin.

The fun dress in blue/petrol arrived today - five weeks early as well! Dress is perfect -much nicer than expected!
