I am assembling a gift for a friend for a treat to help her through the nightmare first few weeks. So far I've got:

Rations: Champagne

Camouflage: High Beam by Benefit

Uniform: Spanx High-Waist Power Panty

What else should be in?

(maybe High Beam out Touche Eclat in)

What products did you need to survive?

can you be my friend please?

I got bugger all from anyone - both times

janeiteisFedUp · 07/03/2010 20:23

Oops - mine aren't v S&B - but they are v v vital.

Silk eye mask?

Do you really want to give her Spanx? Might she be offended? How about a nice pair of silk knickers instead?

A blusher? Maybe Nars Orgasm?

traceybath · 07/03/2010 20:23

Mini bottles of champagne.
Lansinoh.
A pashmina for wrapping round me when bf at night/covering up when in-laws around.
Magazines to read whilst endlessly bf.

My SIL bought me Jo Malone Red Roses bath oil and candle which was a lovely very indulgent gift.

Not sure about the spanx to be honest - not a massively tactful gift. A pretty lightweight scarf would be nicer I think.

janeiteisFedUp · 07/03/2010 20:24

Marmite is for B vitamins and late night snacks.

LadyGooGoo · 07/03/2010 20:24

Aah, maybe I am...(Obv if you're not pregnant, can kind of guess I'm not)

Jane - you've saved me pouring yeast extract on hair to see if it makes it shiney

She is a good friend and did ask the secret to my quickly svelte (OK, svelter) shape after ds3 so think Spanx would be an item that she may not bothet to get herself but (hopefully) would be pleased rather than offended at receiving.

Did think of Lanisoh as she is intending to bf but kind of wanted gift to be about her lokking/feeling good after birth rather than in any way practical IYSWIM

Just reading up on Nars Orgasm and sounds excellent

Dry shampoo - time spent washing, drying and styling hair should be spent sleeping.

And if she's got long hair then clips / scrunchies to keep it out of the way when winding - so many times did I walk around with milky sick in my hair.

Maldon sea salt for bathing if she has stitches (healing properties)

tethersend · 07/03/2010 20:58

Dry shampoo.

Fuck washing your hair when you could be ASLEEP.

tethersend · 07/03/2010 21:02

Brilliant x-post jenduff

jellycat123 · 07/03/2010 21:06

JamAndPeanutButter · 07/03/2010 21:11

Origins Ginger Float bubblebath

My mum gave me this after my DS was born...like being transported to heaven!!

LadyGooGoo · 07/03/2010 21:15

Ooh, wtach pot never boils and all that!

Now tell me more about ooh la la lift vs bo-oig vs lemon aid vs erase paste

Have ooh la lift, how does it compare to touche eclat?

The condoms should have gone in my survival kit Ds1 was 9 months when ds2 conceived1

Hand cream a realyy good idea, never thought of that (looks down at scaly hands)
