nicey - love chinos too, very comfy

SixtyFootDoll · 06/02/2010 16:39

Nic shape on those chinos .
thought you were going to link to the pleated waist ones, like what I used to wear in the 80's with my 'Next' penny loafers and denim shirt!!

hmm i fear i'd look like the boyfriend rather than fragile and feminine. but that is what i am hoping the clogs will help with.

SixtyFootDoll · 06/02/2010 16:49

Are clogs coming back?
I still have my clogs from last time around.
I love my clogs!!!

Nelvana · 06/02/2010 16:49

yup i've done it (in a fashion, with shorter heels) i think you can pull it off if you have slim-ish ankles and also get the roll right. roll in the pic looks a bit too round and with the roll sticking out its just annoying to walk -- i've rolled my trousers more cuff-like, think it looks better

(love those clogs btw had my eye on the sandal closed-toe version they were selling in COS last year)

NonVinaigretteRien · 06/02/2010 16:50

Too flashbackish for me [gimmer]

SixtyFootDoll · 06/02/2010 16:51

oooh I love that website I want ti all esp the clog jodhpur boots!

BigTillyMint · 06/02/2010 16:52

I did it in the 80's, so maybe not again?

The model looks good, though.

TheElephant · 06/02/2010 18:21

I think it looks silly!

TheElephant · 06/02/2010 18:24

i think that is your default setting dexy!

OP posts:
MadameCastafiore · 06/02/2010 18:26

Unless you are super slim I think it will make you look like a lard arse!

faustina · 06/02/2010 18:26

gap did some lovely slouchy slim chinos last year - much nicer than the lands end ones. On the US website they have some nice ones for Spring this year. I'm not keen on the clogs though - I wore cork wedges last year, but ballet flats looked ok too

faustina · 06/02/2010 18:28

slim chinos, no pleats, neatly rolled up = looks ok. flattering on the legs

TheElephant · 06/02/2010 18:28

here are the gap ones- slimmer nad better i think

coul wheel out anceint denim jackay with

Don't understand elephant
I think rolled up chinos would be fine with flat shoes but it looks contrived with heels.
Mind you if Lands End says it is in then who am I to argue!

TheElephant · 06/02/2010 18:29

i mean you often say that.
no harm meant

OP posts:
MmeLindt · 06/02/2010 18:30

Perhaps if they were neatly rolled up. On that pic it looks like she has been paddling on the beach.

MadameCastafiore · 06/02/2010 18:32

Exactly dexter and I think you can look contrived if you are super slim and maybe under 25 but for most on mumsnet you just strive to be well put together!

It looks as though you took your kids swimming but you didn't go in and rolled up your trousers whilst showering them. I would tell you that you had forgotten to roll them down thinking I was saving you from looking a twat!

dexter73 · 06/02/2010 18:32

No offence taken but I think it does look silly! Rolled up trousers are a very casual look but then you stick a pair of heels on - why would you do that?

TheElephant · 06/02/2010 18:33

hmm
i have a shapely ankle but am not either 24 or 8 stone.
but hey i am nto going to wear a shroud till i die as i am not what only about 3 % of thepopulation is.

OP posts:
dexter73 · 06/02/2010 18:34

Exactly MadameCastafiore - It's like when I cycle and tuck one of my trouser legs into my sock and then forget to untuck it before I wander around the shops!
