Ha ha ha!

Tried to buy Talamores the other day £90 but son wailing on knee so gave up.

Now £40!!! from £130.

Did manage to get advice on size through through Ds's howls so have ordered relatively small size & hope it fits.

(Have weird feet - according to Clarks I am 6.5-7 UK on one foot and 8-8.5 on other foot. Duo think that would be a 41 by their reckoning whereas I normally get a 42.)

Also interested in their sale shoes which are similarly cheapo but am an F fitting according to Clarks and do not understand Duo sizing.

You must have had the Pavias then fuzzy, they look lovely!

I notice they have Bern in red for £35 very nice.

largeginandtonic · 03/02/2010 07:11

Huzzah! Almost ordered the other day.

I now have 2 pairs of boots for the price of 1!

Cyb · 03/02/2010 07:23

Elephant I feel your pain. I bought £90 brogues in Jones...now £30

and a little bit

duckyfuzz · 03/02/2010 08:35

the ones I bought full price weere etienne, have now ordered malmo in brown and cavalio in black, for far less than the price of etienne in the autumn. Not sure if I'll like them though, it may be £10 wasted on postage. I have Bern in brown and they are fab, very warm with fleecy lining, they have just done their 3rd winter and need some serious re-heeling now!

Ooh which ones do I buy?? I have the florence ones already but I am thinking brown now. Any recommendations?

ApuskiDusky · 03/02/2010 09:42

Done! Bought some viennas! Thanks!

MaineGirl · 03/02/2010 18:52

hard to recommend one pair as they ahve so many lovely pairs for differnt occassions/outfits. i actually ordered 4 pairs in the sale. 2 brown and 2 black and just tonight ordered the talamore in brown as for £40 i couldn't not

what occassion are you thinking for the boots and colours/heel height etc and are you buying for calf width small/wide?

i have a bit of a duo addiction at the best of times.

Disenchanted3 · 03/02/2010 18:56

do you think these will be OK for long walks my current black boots are high workman style and very heavy

i walk alot but want to look decent

TheElephant · 03/02/2010 19:08

i like the oslo
anyone had em?

MaineGirl · 03/02/2010 20:38

the first ones would be good for walking, very comfy. i've had those (my sister has them now as the calf was too big after losing some weight) only thing is suede so obviously not country walks unless very good suede protector on them.

the oslo are classic boots, very smart looking but at same time able to dress down with leggings or jeans. look good with a skirt too.

duckyfuzz · 03/02/2010 20:42

mainegirl which ones have yuo ordered?

OP posts:
MaineGirl · 03/02/2010 20:46

etienne(black), pavia(brown), orleans(red), elba(black) and talamore (brown) i know its bad but am hoping i won;t need to buy any for a few more years and it was the price of two pairs at full price and only brought one new pair this year and it was payday on friday oh and i had xmas money left (do you think i justified it to myself yet?

duckyfuzz · 03/02/2010 20:48

I have etienne in black and love them, I think your justifications are entirely reasonable

OP posts:
MaineGirl · 03/02/2010 21:30

can't wait hopefully etienne and pavia here tomorrow, i was only looking for a pir of flat black boots as finding it hard to walk in my high boots at the moment. (think its my lax muscles still after having had my latest dd)but retail therapy does you the world of good, as long as you cna afford it why not?

selby · 03/02/2010 21:36

I have the bologna boots in black (3 winters and counting) and they're extremely comfortable (I can't do heels!). Very tempted to make a purchase of Pavias in brown.

florenceuk · 03/02/2010 21:49

Mainegirl, do the calf widths on the Valetta come up big or small - I'm a 34cm and have choice of 33 or 35cm??? Only £40 though!

ApuskiDusky · 03/02/2010 21:51

I love my Pavias, I would have bought them in brown if they had them in my size.

laughterlines · 03/02/2010 22:00

How are the Pavias for foot size? I am normally a size 6 but have the red Bern boots in a 5 which are fine. I'm hoping that a 5 might be OK in the Pavia as they don't have a 6

ApuskiDusky · 03/02/2010 22:20

I'm kind of a 5.5, and I've got size 38 Pavias and they're fine.

laughterlines · 03/02/2010 22:27

Thanks

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 03/02/2010 22:40

Ooh, I'm actually planning to go to the branch in Bath tomorrow.
No idea which ones I want but I liked so many on the site the other day I decided to pay a visit.
D'you think they'll have anything left?! < panics > < runs around in circles >

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 03/02/2010 23:26

Panic over - nothing I like in my size.

skihorse · 04/02/2010 07:02

I ordered the Pavias on Tuesday, down from 235 euros to 60 - how can you not? Glad to see they've got so many rave reviews here!
