i would go for the smaller of the 2 calf widths as they dostrecth with wear. so they might start off a bit tight but would soon loosen. i also found when i first started buying duo boots that i would size up and they would be too big and look like wellies.

Grrr can select the foot size but it won't let me select calf size. I NEED Duo boots

Are their sizes consistent? I am normally a 41, but have the Lyon in a 41 and really think I could have done with a 40, which is surprising as I have really narrow feet and ankles. They have the £40 Talamores in a 40 - is it safe to assume the fir is the same in different styles?

Their feet sizes are all over the place- I have had 4 pairs of Duo over the years.

I am currently wearing Oristano in a 37 despite always taking a 38, and they almost fit my DD who is a 39/40! all other reviews say the foot is big in this style.

Others though fit more normally, including Kirov and Ravenna.

as a rule, I'd say that their pointy toe styles are big and their other styles are what you'd expect.

i missed my delivery today, will be off to the sorting office tomorrow am to collect all 5 boxes. might be slightly embarrasing.
not sure how i cna justify buying new ones next winterr now though.

i buy for a wider calf but have a slim ankle so find i size down, plus by most over brands a 42 is an 8 but duo say this is a 9, i buy the 41 whihc duo say is an 8 but a 7 elsewhere (i am normally an 8)

snap mainegirl - I too missed the postie and will be at sorting office tomorrow, and also have size 8 feet which are 41 at duo, 42s are too big for me there, yet can be small elsewhere

i am actually very excited as have a few ebay parcels to pick up, best take a shopping trolley lol.
glad its not just me that finds the sizing comes up big, thought i was going mad when i first brought duo boots. to top it off i ordered boots and a pair of shoes both same size, the boots were too big but the shoes too small?

I have ordered the Monza in brown as the Elba in my size was sold out under my nose . I'm worried that no-one is mentioning the monza, are they naff?

i got the Talamore in the sale too. the foot size is big - i am a 6.5 or a 7 and the 39 are fine

gutted they sent etienne in the wrong size totally. they sent a 43 (9) and a 48cm calf, way way too big and none left in my size so if anyone wants a brand new etienne in that size for £60 inc post let me know. i will be sending back on tuesday if not.

on the plus side the others fit perfect and i am very happy. the talamore that were an after thought and only really brought because they were so cheap are my faves.

I have just got my Talamores. I note that they look a lot more, well, blotchy, than in the picture, and therefore not so smart. They have streaks of paler leather running down the front and one has a darker blotch on the side. They both have darker blotches on the toe. I am thinking "ex-display?" tbh. In addition, the zip at the ankle sort of sags and rubs a bit on against my anklebone. I have narrow ankle so that might be making it worse. I am not sure whether this is a major problem or whether it will sort itself out with time as the boots conform to my legshape. I got 43cm calf boots and they are a tiny bit gappy at the top, but no so much so that I would bother about that. Am humming a bit.

mmmnnn, sounds odd. my talamores are not blotchy at all ( unlike my legs )

unless they were sold as seconds you shoudl call them

mine aren;t blotchy either, they are more of a worn look leather but def not blotchy.

am still so disapointed about my etiennes.

They weren't sold as seconds but then again they were only forty quid! If anything I am more concerned about the zips rubbing against my ankles as obviously if they become uncomfortable to wear they won't be of use to me. It seems to be more an issue of bagginess round the ankle than being too tight which is funny as I wouldn't have thought that this would make them uncomfortable.

The brown Talamore (size 6 / 41inch calf) are slightly too tight on the leg

The brown Pavia (size 5 / 42inch calf) are too large on the calf

They will have to go back to Duo unless anyone else would like them?

LL - i think they are meant to be slightly tight on the calves, as they stretch when you wear them
