I got this today and it is fab.

Its light, not too bulky and so so warm. I may never ever take it off again.

I was saying today that I may look like Michelin woman in mine, but it is soooo toasty warm that I love it to death

MarthaFarquhar · 05/01/2010 20:27

I had to buy a duvet coat last week. I look like kenny from south park, but now I can be both warm and dry at the same time.

the holy trinity of warm, dry and stylish still eludes me however, partly due to lack of £££ to throw at the problem.

MaggieSultana · 05/01/2010 20:32

i find now my kids are older coats arent such an issue.
less stadnign in parks.
and they last longer

CHOOGIRL · 05/01/2010 20:33

I too have given in tracybath - could you have a look at my thread and let me know which one I should go for.

VerityBrulee · 05/01/2010 20:38

They are just the warmest things imaginable. Yours is lovely Tracey, I have one that's a great shape, but black, and I now officially hate black. I reserve it for the really cold weather which means I hane been wearing it a lot lately.

MaggieSultana · 05/01/2010 20:39

to where do you wear them?

traceybath · 05/01/2010 20:42

Maggie - once all dc's are a little older I will look at lovely wool coats - happy days.

But when I purchased it I did think this will come in handy for watching sporty stuff as they get older - you see I'm so practical

Choo - posted on your thread.

also (older kids) less muddy footprints hence less need to be machine washable

I have at least 5yrs of park-loitering ahead of me so am saving up for the Aigle Sugey trench

BelleDameSansMerci · 05/01/2010 20:42

Ooooh, I love mine. Didn't cave in until this year but no more freezing my arse off in the park for me!

traceybath · 05/01/2010 20:44

Verity - I was going to get black but they'd sold out in my size so bought cocoa which is a lovely colour. Also suits me much more than black which I am not buying any more of.

Yes MrsB machine washable is a big factor as still carrying round a baby and lifting toddler with muddy boots in and out of car.

Hang on a minute - who hates duvet coats?? Show me them, and I will teach them the error of their ways

I love my duvet coat (Mountain Hardware) and want to marry it as it keeps me warmer than DH !

eshermummy · 05/01/2010 20:49

Really like that Tracey, I LOVE duvet coats - I actually think the puffier the better!!
I bought a cheap puffa from H&M a few months ago and it has become my lifesaver but was thinking of updating to a slightly more luxe version and I really like yours. Did you get the black or the brown? How long on you is it?

I saw the thread below about additional discount at my-wardrobe and have got hat in my basket but even with super discounts it's still £80 and I def can't have both - so should I accessorise existng black puffa with sheepskin hat or buy new brown puffa coat?

eshermummy · 05/01/2010 20:51

aaagh

this sheepskin hat

thatsnotmymonster · 05/01/2010 20:51

I also love my red RAB duvet jacket with hood!

Lol I look enormous in it but NEVER EVER cold and, boy, am I loving it at the moment

traceybath · 05/01/2010 20:51

I got the brown coat. Now I'm only 5ft so got the xs and it comes to just about my knees.

It is pretty slim fitting as its 80% down and 20% feather. Even DH liked it and he's not normally impressed by duvet coats.

Its funny but I've only recently become aware of how much black just doesn't suit me - too draining on my pale complexion and blondish hair.

mii · 05/01/2010 20:53

i am v jealous, they look so warm

but have never seen anyone look good in one

MaggieSultana · 05/01/2010 20:53

no not a good look

traceybath · 05/01/2010 20:54

Oh I like the hat - you know FRIENDS20 is giving an extra 20% off sale stuff.

OP posts:
sowhatitsonlysnow · 05/01/2010 20:55

They are pretty much standard issue on the continent (you know, where it snows and life goes on as usual!).

traceybath · 05/01/2010 20:56

Well I do look good in mine .

And more importantly I look warm.

OP posts:
mii · 05/01/2010 20:57

even Klum can't pull it off

PacificDogwood · 05/01/2010 20:58

I look warm in mine !!

SixtyFootDoll · 05/01/2010 20:59

Who hates Duvet coats?
I have a brown form Uniqlo, bought it in OCtober an have worn it nearly every day since.
My DS's play rugby twice a week, it is a godsend.
I love mine.

traceybath · 05/01/2010 21:01

But Klum's is much puffier than mine and also very long.

Although don't think she looks too bad really .

OP posts:
VerityBrulee · 05/01/2010 21:03

mii, that's because hers is totally shapeless.

Tracey's has shaping at the waist and that's why it will look good on.

There are stylish duvet coats out there you just need to try harder
