Does anyone else remove all their pubic hair?

OK a strange question but does anyone else do this? I've never seen the point of shaving things into a neat triangle when you can just whip the whole lot off in a couple of minutes. But I DO get stared at in changing rooms (or I might be paranoid).

Also I felt self-conscious giving birth with no pubic hair in case the midwives thought I'd read some 1940's manual on giving birth which recommended this.

Is it unusual?

I've been having Brazilians for years and highly recommend finding a good waxer. Also, applying TendSkin before and after a wax or shave will keep ingrown hairs to a minimum, as will exfoliating before your appointment. I used to get a cream marketed as Emla in the States prescribed - it's a bit of a local anesthetic that took the edge off the pain, but I don't need it anymore.

I use a ladyshave for in between waxes.

I find it a much neater, cleaner look and I know it sounds vain but I like to wear nice underwear and the non-bushy look suits good knickers. Also swim costumes.

I've spent a lot of my life in warm climates where there's a lot of skin on display - fake tanner, a good personal trainer and a skilled waxer were necessities, not just luxuries.

I want a hollywood but couldn't afford £35 pounds a month [disappointed smiley]

Your Brazilian should include the ENTIRE area around the vulva and perineum. If yours doesn't, it's not a true Brazilian. Brazilians are designed for thong bikins, so ALL the hair except the landing strip should be removed.

i had a landing strip when i was young and gay (think word is due for a revival, it really worked in this sentence)

think having it all off really horrid when you are old-ish.
luckily dh doesnt seem to mind that I have normal womanly bits

Mum2Ela · 01/07/2005 15:30

expatinscotland it does include a fair bit, but she wouldn't be able to get to it all without me lying on my belly iykwim. Should it include that too?

expatinscotland · 01/07/2005 15:32

Yes, Mum, it should. Alternatively you can lie on your side and hold one of your legs up in the air. It is an intimate waxing and the professionals have been trained to handle it, but it's not for the modest.

There should be NO hair except the landing strip. The waxer will trim down any longer hairs before waxing them smooth.

Mum2Ela · 01/07/2005 15:36

expatinscotland I am glad I know that now, tho I can't see me going in next month and saying 'ooh, wax my bum can you?'

expatinscotland · 01/07/2005 15:36

Rather be an old plucked turkey and a grey hedgehog.

fishfinger · 01/07/2005 15:36

god oyu lot need to get out mroe

fishfinger · 01/07/2005 15:37

I think its pervy

expatinscotland · 01/07/2005 15:38

Mum
When you book a Brazilian it should be understood that the technician will be waxing that area. You should not have to say 'Wax my bum' - 'Brazilian' says it all. If not, then I'd find a new salon b/c they are not giving true Brazilians.

Both the tech and the client should be aware of what it involves.
