Does anyone else remove all their pubic hair?

OK a strange question but does anyone else do this? I've never seen the point of shaving things into a neat triangle when you can just whip the whole lot off in a couple of minutes. But I DO get stared at in changing rooms (or I might be paranoid).

Also I felt self-conscious giving birth with no pubic hair in case the midwives thought I'd read some 1940's manual on giving birth which recommended this.

Is it unusual?

your very welcome np - really need to get a fellow hollywooder on my side - am feeling very alone and bold!

she sounded like a lovely lady - gorgeous accent btw.

this salon does brazilian - 01382 562228 (invergowrie)

I love a research project!

the girl who does my bikini wax was telling me about the LAS VEGAS, this is a brazillian but then they fix jewels onto your nether (now bald) regions..... Kind of struck me dumb that one.

I find this thread unnerving - growing hair is a sign of womanhood and makes you different from a child with no hair. the fact that so many of you find it unclean is sad. all for experiments and all that but not having pubic hair as a long term decicion is sad

morningpaper · 01/07/2005 15:07

oooh controversial mud!

Do you really not shave at all?

OP posts:
Mud · 01/07/2005 15:12

didn't mean to be contrversial sorry. just meant the very act of removing all pubic hair seems to go back to being a young gilr and I have always been slightly concerned about men who like it. funny but as soon as i wrote that it sounds even more contraversial doesnt it.

desperatehousewife · 01/07/2005 15:12

I'm kind of with you Mud - I totally think each to their own, but have never been able to get my head round women wanting to look like pre-pubescent children...

I don't touch mine. But then again, not really had a 'problem' in that area!?!

morningpaper · 01/07/2005 15:12

Why is it different to armpit hair?

OP posts:
desperatehousewife · 01/07/2005 15:13

i think because it's a sexual area..?

morningpaper · 01/07/2005 15:14

I get hairs on my nipples, but I don't encourage them.

OP posts:
desperatehousewife · 01/07/2005 15:14

I'd totally whip those off! without a second thought!

morningpaper · 01/07/2005 15:16

It's just a cultural thing I think. Most women don't want their hairy mary crawling down to their knees, although of course it is a sign of sexual maturity.

I think the dirty feeling is not a sexual thing but the same as armpit hair - it just makes the whole area easier to keep fresh 'n' clean IYKWIM.

OP posts:
Mud · 01/07/2005 15:16

now nipple hair thats another thing completly

morningpaper · 01/07/2005 15:16

I know you plait yours, Mud.

PMSL 'Hairy mary' !

AnnaInManchester · 01/07/2005 15:20

so is a hairy one a turn off to men?

fastasleep · 01/07/2005 15:21

I don't think there's any danger of anyone here's bits looking pre-pubescent, we've all had babies!

I get rid of mine a) because it gets all yucky and steamy down there otherwise, b) because it looks nice and I can wear see through thongs! c) because I get no sexual favours otherwise lol

fastasleep · 01/07/2005 15:23

Aren't like half the people who admitted to whipping it all off from the due in October board?? Weird lol

AnnaInManchester · 01/07/2005 15:24

Is a hairy one yucky???

Mum2Ela · 01/07/2005 15:24

I'm a regular brazillian kinda gal. Next month tho I am havin a hollywood.

I am getting rid of the lot because my bikini 'area' grows back so sparcely now since having it waxed that I thought I would get rid of the lot and perhaps it wouldn't grow back so thick.

Hoping they will do the 'bottom' area too .

Do they?

suzywong · 01/07/2005 15:25

there should be a counterpoint thread
"hands up who has a fanny like a bear-trapper's hat"

fastasleep · 01/07/2005 15:26

Some people's hairy ones are nice...some people's hairy ones are scary! Scary hairy mary's they're ok as long as you sort of 'trim the hedge'
