Help!
Guests likely to be dreadlocked middle class hippy types.
Actual wedding taking place in old mansion house so would prefer not to wear wellies the whole time.

What about Uttam or Yumi Popular with Kate Moss etc and can be dressed up or down.

BunnyLebowski · 18/08/2009 17:52

Ah we need SO much more info!

Your size, shape, colouring for a start. Your usual style, likes and dislikes.

Your budget?

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 18:18

size 16 (although getting smaller)
shape pear/apple
colouring - scottish white
long brown hair
i like pattern and colour although look good in black.
budget schmudget!
not really. high street prices only.

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 18:18

note namechange mid thread.
must stop doing that.

Lulubee · 18/08/2009 18:20

You need something vintage that looks like Granny could have worn it, and a string of pearls. Contrast with wellies is good. Toast perhaps?

Lulubee · 18/08/2009 18:21

Ooh no, forget toast, just had a look at their current collection and all the dresses are foul. Hang on, I'll be back...

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 18:23

i like the pattern on this uttam dress

but the style is all wrong.
too short, too puffy around the middle etc.

Lulubee · 18/08/2009 18:26

Uttam black dress in DP?

here

Heated · 18/08/2009 18:28

Damn ,Lulubee, but you're good at this!

Lulubee · 18/08/2009 18:30

Or maybe a bit more classic, like this

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 18:30

yup nice.
would need to wear a cardi though.

Lulubee · 18/08/2009 18:31

Fanks

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 18:31

Dress code: smart, bright colours and hats of all types. It could be muddy and wobbly.

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 18:32

ooh that's purdy.
maybe a bit pale for me though. i do better in stronger colours.

Heated · 18/08/2009 18:34

The [[http://www.uttamdirect.com/item.php?code=T1051 Uttam dress] is here too, and also in another colour, but think the black is better.

BintOfBohemia · 18/08/2009 18:35

I've got that red dress in blue - it's loooooovely, and very flattering. Wedding sounds fab!

aarghhelp · 18/08/2009 18:39

I bought a pair of these yesterday. They would look good perhaps in this context? (assume you are guest and not bride) Hunters do white wellies now for brides...

Lulubee · 18/08/2009 18:47

I can't link to that Utam dress? Want to seee!

I love the fabric on this dress, not sure if you're happy with strapless?

ta-da

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 18:54

they have some nice welly patterns on there.

what red dress bint?

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 18:56

i have a dress similar to that in brighter colours, with optional straps and a shrug.
forgot about it.
i'll go try it on.

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 19:22

nope, my monsoon dress isn't cool enough.
i look like an oversized fairy.

Lulubee · 18/08/2009 19:25

Dress should be slightly above the knee to look good with wellies I think, and also chiffon/floral is a good contrast...

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 19:32

the look

but the dress must be knee length

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 20:53

simple purple dress?

Platesmasher · 18/08/2009 21:05

boden?
