This season I will mostly be wearing.... WHAT?

So, Autumn approaches, and the high street is an utter mix of random styles. What should I look out for7avoid. i want to be warm, and will be breastfeeding, so am looking for front opening tops/shirts etc. I've seen lots of baggy shirts etc, and was thinking of wearing flat boots, thick tights and skirts to go with a loose shirt. Not sure if this is trendy, or just Bag Lady. I'm a reasonable (currently hugely inflated with baby) size 10/12, early thirties normal looking pear shape..
Any ideas?

But BadgersArse - if you don't buy when the stuff comes in, you might not get the full range of the collections, and when you actually want some winter clothes, you'll find they've moved on and everywhere's stocking swimming costumes and sarongs .

Still lots of loose/swingy tops around, Luxmum, which ought to be OK for breastfeeding in. Need really to team them with something fitted on the bottom half, though, if possible.

Wrap has some nice autumn stuff - just had their new catalogue through - I like the swingy cardigan, and the printed jersey top (though if you look at the smaller pic on that page, you'll see what I mean about wearing it with something fitted - imo that skirt really doesn't work with the top). Wrap's not the cheapest though, but gives you some idea of the sorts of shapes. I like this tunic too.

I am in a similar situation to you (10-12 pear, baby due in Jan) and as most of the trends I have seen seem to involve either purple, electric blue or ski pants I am remaining aloof.
Those long tunics /short dresses over leggings etc are generally an arse to bf in as you can;t lift them up from the hem without getting your whole body out.

So I will once again be going for dark jeans or short cord skirts and boots with either fitted shirts and jumpers or longer empirey tops

it may be preppy and unimaginative but it suits me and my pg / bf situation

and most critically means I don't have to buy any clothes

NB if you are normally smallchested this may be the only time you have a decent cleavage, so do not conceal it in 80s-style sacks

Hmm, yes, I'm struggling to find much which opens at the front, or can be lifted discretely, for the last 2 (you'd think I'd have copped on and got an extensive wardrobe at this stage) I froze, mostly. It is the one time I have cleavage, but at -5 degrees, I am not too inclined to reveal anything, let along my ultra sensitive little nipples. They dont like the BF/winter combi.
OK so, looks like the baggy bag lady look. Maybe I'll just get some nice new boots and some dark jeans. What about winter coats, any good styles out there?

EVERY shop has the same trends in it. And they may be trends I like but there is never anything different.

I saw a veh stylish gal in London the other week, wearing a plain cotton teeshirt, very wide leg navy trews, plimsolls and red lippy. I think I may adopt the tighter top/wider leg look as a buck against the loose long tunic/legging look which is EVERYWHERE.

Saying that The Great Plains catalogue came and I could quite easily wear the lot.

Tight top wide leg is v flatteering and stylish.I love red lipstick but not on me!

Agree re tunics they are over!

But noddy - this is for bf-ing in, so much more practical than something tight. Agree, though, that if one half is wide/loose, the other half is better more fitted. Whichever way round it is.

Are they flattering? even for a size 12 who is only 5ft 4??

I have yet to find good leggings.
