So, Autumn approaches, and the high street is an utter mix of random styles. What should I look out for7avoid. i want to be warm, and will be breastfeeding, so am looking for front opening tops/shirts etc. I've seen lots of baggy shirts etc, and was thinking of wearing flat boots, thick tights and skirts to go with a loose shirt. Not sure if this is trendy, or just Bag Lady. I'm a reasonable (currently hugely inflated with baby) size 10/12, early thirties normal looking pear shape..
Any ideas?

Lulubee they are really great if like me skinny calves are the bane of your life. But even if not, they have loads of stretch in the side panels.

MrsBadger · 18/08/2009 08:29

I suppose two years ago counts as 'fairly recently'...

JackieNo · 18/08/2009 13:35

Yes, I meant to say congratulations too, MrsBadger .

I will be wearing the most tasteful items among whatever Sainsbury's or Tescos have to offer, with the occasional item from M&S thrown in for novelty. I don't really "do" fashion, although I do like to look reasonably smart. Usually jeans or trousers (bootleg, sorry, but they suit my shape) with a nice top, or maybe a cardigan, and a necklace, and some boots. That's me. Can't do the 80's look with leggings and big shirts, firstly because I am a size 16 and would look like a balloon on legs, and secondly, because I was there first time around and don't feel the need to do it again.

Bumping this thread as I love things like this!

For work I will be mostly doing wide legged trousers and fitted tops, or flirting with the 1940s lady look with pencil skirts (but what tops?).

For play i suspect it will be the usual thing of bootcuts, silk camis and cardigans or puffy 50s skirts, fitted v neck jumpers and boots or mary janes.

Bleh · 21/08/2009 15:39

I have no clue. I will emtpy wardrobe of all clothes, try to figure out what would work, wish that I looked like someone from the Sartorialist blog and end up in a heap on the bed sobbing into my clothes. And then spend the rest of the cold season in thick black tights, black polo necks, and skirt.

stillfrazzled · 21/08/2009 17:41

I want some Gap slim chinos, to wear with chunky heels or maybe brogues, shirts/t-shirts and longline cardies. Maybe scarves. Think I'm having a preppy moment.

Also skinny jeans/leggings, chunky boots and knitted dresses.

chichichien · 21/08/2009 17:54

I need a new pair of boots and I fancy these. Yum.

chichichien · 21/08/2009 17:54

AH! You won't see them. Forgot shuh is shite and it won't link to single item.
