Aren't M&S clothes shite at the moment?

Going to a party tomorrow. I have something to wear, but ended up with a couple of hours spare and decided to go and shop for something new. Nearest place with easy parking is a big M&S.

My God, how dreary are their clothes?! Shitey McShite of Shitesville.

Who buys all that stuff?

I was so disappointed not to be able to spend any money. I went round twice, in disbelief, convinced I must have missed all the nice stuff.

LeninGrad ...
You need a 'handbag' like mine, it is canvas and can take numerous items including a rolled up umbrella, a pair of kids flipflops and (crucially) a good book! Only trouble is dp knows this and will palm off his (not so small) camera........
I do have handbags - they only come out when I am going out in the evening (and those days are long gone....)

EachPeachPearMum · 15/07/2009 17:47

This is what you need Lenin... Paris is rife with them....

The women who have them are very Femme... but not the usage of the word you might think...

(ie very middle-class, middle-aged, well-dressed Parisiennes)

janeite · 15/07/2009 19:06

I like that Limited Collection bag.

I've just bought this for work and am v pleased with it but it would be soooo much nicer in purple! At least it fits Year 10's essays in.

EachPeachPearMum · 15/07/2009 19:09

Hello! Are you back down to earth yet?

(a day at work probably did that though...)

I might actually get to the post office tomorrow

janeite · 15/07/2009 19:10

Am still floating!

Ooh - have I got books to come? Don't bother posting - perhaps we could get together for a coffee over the holiday and I could return yours too.

DarrellRivers · 15/07/2009 19:19

femme??

ChilliK · 15/07/2009 19:21

I have long planned a take over of M&S as the clothes are so depressing, even the late middle aged/elderly ladies amongst us must want to open a vein after passing through the clothing department. Even if people want to dress like that they shouldn't be encouraged. A bit like selling Class A drugs.

EachPeachPearMum · 15/07/2009 19:24

np janeite... will email you...

Extenuating rucksack situation

janeite · 15/07/2009 20:31

Moving on slightly - I have some M&S vouchers. What does anybody recommend, in the light of this thread?

triffictits · 15/07/2009 20:33

I often frequent The Fox at lunchtimes

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/07/2009 20:36

Using them in the food department?

janeite · 15/07/2009 20:52

Not food (well, maybe a bit - what's exciting there at the mo?) and I deffo don't need a bag now.

Triffictits - where's the skirt link?

Any nice tops? Or kitchen stuff?

triffictits · 15/07/2009 21:11

Found it, thanks. Will have a look but it's not really my sort of thing unless it transforms in reality!

swedesinsunglasses · 17/07/2009 23:03
