Aren't M&S clothes shite at the moment?

Going to a party tomorrow. I have something to wear, but ended up with a couple of hours spare and decided to go and shop for something new. Nearest place with easy parking is a big M&S.

My God, how dreary are their clothes?! Shitey McShite of Shitesville.

Who buys all that stuff?

I was so disappointed not to be able to spend any money. I went round twice, in disbelief, convinced I must have missed all the nice stuff.

Happy Birthdays to Wonk and Watt.

Ooh, last week at work Lenin. Exciting time.

policywonk · 13/07/2009 13:51

Oh, you have worn through my reluctance. Thursday, yes (happy birthday to DS3 too). Going to a friend's for tea, then out to dinner with DP and DSs (probably Giraffe or somewhere similarly child-friendly) and then going to hit the nite-spots of Weybridge. If I am lucky I will pull a florid man in deck shoes.

Can you say anything in S&B then?

I was in Kew recently. It's all a bit hmmmm isn't it? Nice but dull. (That goes for the actual Kew as well.)

You know if we were more feeble minded we woudl then haev to make this into a " Lyra Binks and Opps" kind of thread and do a lot of this

swedes how is your top
leningrad how is your baby

etc

VietnameseCobbler · 13/07/2009 14:00

Its very good for basics imo.
and a LOT LOT LOT of muted summer colours. rl mate who is a Winter finds it useless.

policywonk · 13/07/2009 14:03

cobbler That's nice. I can't wear linen. You must be a neat sort of person.

VietnameseCobbler · 13/07/2009 14:04

i iron.
i was thinking that with me marthas( top shop jeans) and sandals

looked nice but the 12 was tight around the arms of all places

AND some fucker had put lipstick on it

policywonk · 13/07/2009 14:04

You know, I don't have 'basics'. I just buy things I like. This is probably where I've been going wrong all this time.

policywonk · 13/07/2009 14:07

I iron! What are you insinuating? I'm just incredibly messy and linen makes it worse for some reason.

at lipstick.

VietnameseCobbler · 13/07/2009 14:08

well it always seems that NO ONE on mn irons when there are threads abotu it

a glam black vest - useful thing I would imagine

Lenin - Those were for Morris, she's specifically looking for sleeveless in black or brown without spaghetti straps. Sit up and pay attention.

EPPM, for example, is a twat.

swedesinsunglasses · 13/07/2009 15:13

Lenin - Poor you. I suffered from terrible preg brain. Apparently I used to just forget to finish the sentence as I was speaking and drift into an inane smile. I felt sharper almsost immediately after giving birth.
