frigging awesome!

I used a method from this thread and then something similar to trim the back.
I did have same length below shoulder hair and now it is all layered and light and pretty.
And it took 10 minutes in the kitchen with a brush, hairband and some scissors!

Yes but there are still no pipcs!

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/04/2009 22:58

I have Pointed It Out to Mr S, who "thought it looked a bit fluffier."

AllThreeWays · 24/04/2009 05:40

JA=ack....OMG I never thought of that!!! Should I change my name?
I chose it cos I have fostered, adopted and had natural children, this is a parenting forum??

DownyEmerald · 24/04/2009 13:54

I am really impressed - must try this!

I've cut my own hair for many many years - just don't like hairdressers (tho' I'm sure they are all lovely as individuals!), the trendiness makes me nervous. And I can't justify the cost. But my limit is getting it more or less (on a good day) the same length with a few wifty bits at the front.

Sometimes it takes me a couple of weeks to find the time to get it all the same length!

noddyholder · 24/04/2009 14:01

Have washed mine once since sat and it looks good I have it up today and it even looks better up than it did before.it is just the shape I love but an going to grow it a bit longer and it will be perfect

holy shit jackbauer, it looks fab!!!!!!!!!

you seriously did that yourself?

bluebump · 24/04/2009 17:20

Add me to the list! I my mum did mine today and it looks really good, I am very impressed. My mum took some photos so when she emails me them i'll add them to my profile.

DitaVonCheese · 24/04/2009 18:01

Thank you for the nice comments. Feedback in RL positive too (my dad said I looked like a Cannes starlet trying to pop to the shops in mufti (this was whilst wearing sunnies) and my mum keeps telling people proudly that I did it myself, which is funny when the last time I cut my own hair, c. 1984, she went mental ).

MamaG mine is utterly mullet, which is karma for laughing at DD being born with one. I do feel your pain because I felt very sick and shaky right afterwards and no one was on the thread then either. 24 hours later I am feeling a bit better, though I've just noticed that it's taken advantage of me not really paying attention (tidying and attending to DD) to dry all fluffy and mad

All3Ways I own neither a barrel brush nor a hairdrier, so will just have to wait for it to grow!

DitaVonCheese · 24/04/2009 18:07

Forgot to say DH swears it looks okay, and DD vomited into it

Saltire · 24/04/2009 19:10

Well not only did I cut mine, I coloured it as well!
Admittedly just a semi permanent one, I haven't had it coloured snce my Carol Decker days!

JackBauer · 24/04/2009 19:11

All3ways, sorry, it could just be my dirty mind. And now I know what it means I feel even worse! Are you fairly new? there are some veyr non-parenting names around on MN, that's why I love it!

Dita, baby vomit highest form of praise IMO

Highlander - Oh yes, I am queen of new hair. If you look carefully you can see distracted toddlers in the background with cbeebies on so I can hack with scissors

You can look at my pics of my dd after I did her hair! It's the first pic on my profile. I think it rather suits her.
