frigging awesome!

I used a method from this thread and then something similar to trim the back.
I did have same length below shoulder hair and now it is all layered and light and pretty.
And it took 10 minutes in the kitchen with a brush, hairband and some scissors!

For those who wonder about the fringe thing the layers at teh front of mine hits my chin, so not really a fringe. Have a looka t the pics I posted at teh top to see, I cut it about 3-4 inches from my head in the ponytail.

well i used to like baking cakes and stuff but then when i had the girls i stopped and never seemed to have enough time to do it but i have just started getting into it again, im not very good though its very basic the stuff i do lol!!

i dont know why ive developed the strange habit of photographing fairy cakes and jam tarts but they seem to be gone so soon after making them in my house!
plus it gives me something to put on my profilepage as i am paranoid about putting pics of myself or the children on the internet for some reason

jackbauer i cant believe how many there are its quite amazing, really taking mn by storm isnt it

MerlinsBeard · 21/04/2009 20:46

if you DON'T want a fringe do what i did....put the ponytail in eth same place as on the vid (ie top of your head and use another bobble to keep the hair together just above where you will cut.

If you are really bothered about where the layers go then wet your hair up to where you want the highest layer to go (totally robbed that from someone further down the thread!)

JackBauer · 21/04/2009 20:52

(sorry for getting in middle fo chat)

mp,i esp like the look of the big one on the top
i'm posting pics on here tomorrow as im making Meringue swans, or should i say i'm going to try to.

MammaPiggy · 21/04/2009 20:58

i will watch out for that then!
dd 's are just getting to the age where they like to 'help' me make cakes! they find it all quite funny!

EachPeachPearMum · 21/04/2009 20:59

MoM please could you clarify the wetting hair bit? thanks...

JeanPoole · 21/04/2009 20:59

ok cool, i'll look you up

MerlinsBeard · 21/04/2009 21:00

SMS the front of mine hits around my chin so not really a fringe. I did wet a bit of my hair up to the shortest I wanted it before I put it in the ponytail so I knew where to cut it.

JackBauer · 21/04/2009 21:18

Plagiarism!

Rhubarb · 21/04/2009 21:19

Will this method work for your minge do you think?

'The MN Minge'

JackBauer · 21/04/2009 21:23

OK, I've done it too. Can't really see the difference as I wore my hair curly today but I'll straighten it tomorrow and see what's what. My hair is a bit shorter and looks a lot thicker now so am optimistic. At the very worst I've learned how to trim my own hair so I don't have to beg my mother any more!

Rhubarb · 21/04/2009 21:29

"Here is my minge before, note the bedraggled edges and split ends - and here is my minge after, all layered, with a fringe and looking fab!"

MN minge, that is...

EyeballsintheSky · 21/04/2009 21:56

Where do you tie the ponytail? At the front top or the front bottom?

meggymoosmum · 21/04/2009 22:01

Mine's a disaster! I did a ponytail at the front, then one on top of my head but my layers are really stepped and i'd still like more length off it. Don't think i spent enough time cutting into it (and couldn't really see what i was doing properly) - think i'll have another go, or get DH to try and tidy it

JackBauer · 21/04/2009 22:08

The cutting in is the important bit, don't think about it or try and plan it just snip away!
