... would be ok to wear with a skirt in 18/20 degree heat?

I have very dodgy (stetchmarky) legs and haven't gone bare leg n about 6 years.

Have some lovely skirts that I want to wear!

Thanks in advance for any responses?

If you have good legs, why ever not?!

Wuxiapian · 12/04/2009 18:49

Thanks, moondog.

So, you don't think tights'll look ridiculous in warm weather, moondog?

hester · 12/04/2009 18:51

Yes, so long as you are careful not to accessorise with high heels, low neckline, lots of gold jewellery and tight clothes.... Having said which, all of that is fine if it is your preferred style, but I'm guessing that, as you've asked, you're concerned about looking OTT.

morningpaper · 12/04/2009 18:53

I wear them all the time

Wuxiapian · 12/04/2009 18:54

Thanks, Hester.

Well, I was thinking knee length swishy style skirt with vest top and cardigan and nice necklace/bracelet.

Would be wearing 3" (toe) cut out wedge heels... they a no-no, then?

Wuxiapian · 12/04/2009 18:55

It's just I fear I may look like a prize pillock, especially as it'll be warm...

OP posts:
morningpaper · 12/04/2009 18:55

they'll be fine as long as you aren't showing any seams

DuffyFluckling · 12/04/2009 18:57

Oooh, I love NUDE fishnets. They're fab.

Wuxiapian · 12/04/2009 18:57

Also, I have brown skin.

So, do you think best to stick to nude shade or could I get away with dark brown/black?

Thanks again.

morningpaper · 12/04/2009 19:18

DOH I don't know about that because I am deathly pale

Having said that I wear all sorts of colours, black today!

hester · 12/04/2009 19:20

Wedge heels fine! I think you'll look great

Wuxiapian · 12/04/2009 21:00

Hmmm.

Reckon the black may be a little too severe.

Will have to purchase some nudey ones, methinks...

So fishnets on visible toes not a fashion faux pas, then?

Gawd, I never used to be so indecisive.

CMOTdibbler · 12/04/2009 21:07

I love fishnets - especially nude ones. And OK on visible toes as long as you hide the seams.

Levante do brown fishnets and their quality is excellent

mrsmaidamess · 12/04/2009 21:10

Oh, just bare your legs woman. How bad can they be?

You have good shaped pins, you sdid so yourself, brown skin...sashay in looking fab and not one soul will notice any flaws.

I think its only old dears who wear tights in the summer. sorry.

traceybath · 12/04/2009 21:13

Agree with mrsm.

Mac do some good body make-up which just evens out skintone or use a nice oil on your legs to give a bit of shimmer if you do feel self-conscious.

CMOTdibbler · 12/04/2009 21:15

I'm an old dear then I don't have time to put makeup on my legs, and they are sooo not fit for human consumption

mrsmaidamess · 12/04/2009 21:16

Do you really think anyone is bothered about your legs? Get them out!

Wuxiapian · 12/04/2009 21:17

mrsmaida, tooo many stretchmarks - all down backs of my legs.

I hate them

People only see my legs in winter - snug and warm and in tights.

Twas why I was wondering if I could get away with the fishnets - just the right amount of coverage.

Just don't want to be stuck in my jeans while everyone else's lovely skin is out.

OP posts:
mrsmaidamess · 12/04/2009 21:18

I can't bear the thought of you wearing tights in the heat

Wuxiapian · 12/04/2009 21:19

Lol, CMOT.

I don't reckon I'd have the £££s, either - no doubt it'd be expensive.

OP posts:
suwoo · 12/04/2009 21:20

I've got some of that, it was free with a mag I think. Tis very good.

Wuxiapian · 12/04/2009 21:22

Did you cover stretchmarks with it, suwoo?

Can't find a price for it.

OP posts:
CMOTdibbler · 12/04/2009 21:25

I've got some of that Sally Hansen stuff - over 10 quid a can, and only does your legs 6 times. Not an everyday thing by any means, especially as fishnets really last.

It does cover most things though, so I keep it for special occasions.

suwoo · 12/04/2009 21:28

If I can find it and its a big if I will send it to you because I won't use it again. I have many afflictions but stretch marks aren't one of them so no idea.

I'll let you know later if its still lurking upstairs.
