These

kooky?
Cutesy?
Nice?

OP posts:
Daffodingles2 · 08/04/2009 21:41

they're ok, bit dull, but the colour helps. Look comfy though.
I certainly wouldn't notice them.
Now I like MrsM's headscarf shoes, especially in black!
I'm tempted

nooka · 09/04/2009 03:01

For those of you who buy shoes online how often do you have to send them back? I find that most shoes I like I can't wear because they just don't fit well enough, and if they pinch when I try them on they will never be comfortable IME (if they are not comfortable I don't wear them, because in general I will get sore/blisters). So how does it work?

EachPAQUESPearMum · 09/04/2009 03:50

I think that may be a whole new thread in itself nooka!

'character backpack? Pah...

JodieO · 09/04/2009 03:53

Tbh I wouldn't give a shit, who cares what people wear as long as they're comfortable in it? Sigh

nooka · 09/04/2009 04:11

Oh some people do you know! I worked with someone who tried to influence an interview panel not to appoint someone on the grounds that she didn't like their shoes...

WowOoo · 09/04/2009 05:17

Have some in that make (red too!) and I can say that they are so comfy and long lasting so far., so well made.

Have had lots of compliments and 'where did you get them?' too.

If you wear them with a non-hippy outfit, they don't look so lentil weavery! But then, I'm never bothered if other people don't like my shoes...

hippipotamiHasLost15Pounds · 09/04/2009 10:32

I am not at all a hippi lentil weavery type, but neither am I all powersuits and high heels. I dress for comfort, not fashion, and I believe those red shoes would fit the bill nicely

(but I draw the line at character backpacks )

chefswife · 10/04/2009 00:35

nooka like the nooka rose? are you in BC?

BuckBuckMcFate · 10/04/2009 00:53

LMAO I looked at the shoes and thought 'My mum would like those!' and then saw further down the thread that she has posted on here saying she loves them

FWIW my mum is well known for her fab dress sense and has had lots of requests to take people shopping as they love her style.

Though I would feel a right numpty wearing them!

nooka · 10/04/2009 02:23

Not heard of the nooka rose. My name is from Noggin the Nog . I am indeed living in BC (Kamloops to be precise) although still at heart I suspect a Londoner.

tigerdroveoverthebunnies · 10/04/2009 03:29

Well I think they are truly hideous lentil weaving etc etc

Was going to post a link to Russell & Bromley, the most gorgeous shoes you have ever seen (think 1920 dance shoe, with loafer tassels in salmon pink and lilac, with a heel). But their website is crap.

However they are much nicer than the OP ones. Honest.

AbleSister · 10/04/2009 08:50

Gross

EachPAQUESPearMum · 10/04/2009 21:22

Ah Nooka... I have a box-set of Noggin Books in my closet, waiting for DD to be old enough to read them too... won't be much longer!

brimfull · 10/04/2009 21:25

I would think their taste was up their arse.

pollywobbledoodle · 10/04/2009 21:33

hands up arse to get taste back
great shoes....i have these but in apple green...this brand is the softest, comfiest i have ever worn [contented sigh]

nooka · 10/04/2009 21:39

I like those

EachPAQUESPearMum you can get the Noggins on DVD too, with lovely Postgate and Firman animation (from Friendly Dragon).

I can't see why these sort of shoes get such a strong reaction - they are just shoes for goodness sake! What is wrong with wanting a pair of vaguely feet shaped shoe in a nice colour?

EachPAQUESPearMum · 10/04/2009 21:42

Nooka... the DVD is on the shelf right next to the books I love Noggin the Nog....

pollywobble those are pretty nice too!

brimfull · 10/04/2009 21:45

they look like shoes for either a 4 yr old or an 80 yr old

TrinityWino · 10/04/2009 21:48

I love them

Bumbleybee · 10/04/2009 21:49

I just bought these www.schuhstore.co.uk/item_frameset.asp?s_ref=130447&s_group=3 and hadn't thought they were lentil weavery at all before looking at this thread, I love yours Eachpeach. I hope the link works, I haven't done one before.

HotCrossGoober · 10/04/2009 21:50

Big Ears And Noddy.

pollywobbledoodle · 10/04/2009 21:57

...

Nontoxic · 10/04/2009 22:06

They remind me of the ones the Steiner mums used to wear at our old school (along with elasticated-waist skirts, hand-knitted Columbian cardis, no make up and grey hairs au naturel). Never a good look.

nooka · 10/04/2009 22:10

So HotCross and ggirl and Ablesister, what do you think are nice shoes? I don't understand the antipathy really. I don't like most shoes for sale as they are impractical, uncomfortable and excessively expensive but I don't have a go at their wearers taste (unless they were patent leather printed with leopard skin patterns or something).

EachPAQUESPearMum · 10/04/2009 22:18

Bumbley they are lovely

thanks goober
