I'm totally in the same boat as OP. I want to buy high quality, comfy leather shoes for everyday wear that have a bit of a style quirk or two about them. ie sort of like Campers but not quite as quirky.

I can't find anything in the shops but I highly recommend Clarks Originals, which you can get online. Also there is a brand called Staccato which you can get on a website called shoe-shop.com. If you look under 'casuals' they have great quirky well made flat shoes.

The shoes I love and hope to buy for spring are: www.amazon.co.uk/Clarks-Originals-Imperial-Girl-Leather/dp/B001T327D0/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&q id=1239032973&sr=1-8

If I'm honest I think the OPs shoes are too earth-mother for me, but maybe with the right clothes they could look great.

MorrisZapp · 08/04/2009 12:29

... those shoes I linked to look a bit insipid, it's the peach colour I want!

mumof2teenboys · 08/04/2009 12:32

EPPM
I think that they are lovely, but then I'm a bit hippy myself ( i prefer to think of myself as quirky!) You buy them and love them!

jumpingbeans · 08/04/2009 12:35

Would look great on a, long flowing grey haired, flared floral skirt, shirt buttoned right up,basket hooked over one arm type person

EachPeachPearMum · 08/04/2009 13:21

jumpingbeans do you have a camera on me?

I really like them in red - but I work as a language lecturer in an FE college and they would not look out of place there!

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 08/04/2009 14:54

sorry not comment on the shoes but this
"we have little parties to celebrate the changing seasons"

is a fabulous idea.

MadameCastafiore · 08/04/2009 14:55

That they have very hairy armpits and a noonoo like the hanging gardens of babylon!

hippipotamiHasLost15Pounds · 08/04/2009 15:04

I love the shoes in teh OP - especially in red.
Sadly my bank account is less enamoured with them so I shall have to carry on admiring them from afar.

MargaretMountford · 08/04/2009 19:01

oh hippi !

hippipotamiHasLost15Pounds · 08/04/2009 19:48

But they are fab! And they look comfy!! And you will admit they are nicer than crocs??

EachPAQUESPearMum · 08/04/2009 19:57

I would never wear crocs!

FrannyandZooey · 08/04/2009 20:00

I like them. But then I live in Brighton.

Spidermama · 08/04/2009 20:06

They are foot shaped. Rare in women's shoes.

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/04/2009 20:13

Ooooo I like these. Especially for the fact that when you walk through mud or sand you would leave little cowrie shell shapes behind you. n

However, I think the whole 'the trip that inspired this shoe' is way too knit your own yoghurt for me.

kitsmummy · 08/04/2009 20:22

hairy legs

mrsdisorganised · 08/04/2009 20:27

Well I like them!

troutpout · 08/04/2009 20:36

i would think...
I want those shoes!...and i would want to ask you where you got them.
They are very lovely indeed

mejon · 08/04/2009 21:25

They are lovely but then I do have a pair of 'Organico' ankle boots with the nobbly soles and a pair of the mary-jane ones ('Iggdrasil'?) which are very comfy. I'm glad I'm not alone - I sometimes click on a link someone has suggested on here and see some gigantic high heeled monstrosity and wonder if I am the only one who has never worn such a thing.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 08/04/2009 21:27

I would think she was one of those women who has a 'character' backpack (normally Shaun the Sheep) and/or a handknitted rainbow jumper.
