Nooka - I did ask what people would think of the person wearing them I can take it.

brimfull · 10/04/2009 22:44

nooka-I am hardly having a go,just giving an opinion if that's ok.

tigerdroveoverthebunnies · 10/04/2009 22:51

Nooka: patent leather printed with leopard skin patterns

Now you're talking.

Ronaldinhio · 10/04/2009 22:56

order ladies please!!

These shoes are undoubtedly comfortable but also look like children's shoes

They scream old bag in sensible shoes who knits shreddies for a living

Repeat: There are no excuses for childlike, sensible, non stylish shoes.
(This is what you are dressing up as quirky btw)

EachPAQUESPearMum · 10/04/2009 23:08

I am child-sized ronaldinhio... does that count?
I am not 'old' yet....

EachPAQUESPearMum · 10/04/2009 23:09

In fact... maybe thats it!
I am compensating for all those years of childhood in 'sensible' brown Clarks shoes... when I wanted something a little more interesting.

chefswife · 10/04/2009 23:23

nooka now that i think about it, it may be nootka rose... must check that. i'm in Victoria. is there any canadian threat?

chefswife · 10/04/2009 23:24

canadian thread i mean!

nooka · 10/04/2009 23:43

No, I tend to hang out in the USA one, there are a couple of Canadians there.

Nontoxic · 10/04/2009 23:53

Ronaldhonio speaks much sense - these shoes are a crime.
They do look comfortable but so do fleeces, tracksuits and elasticated-waist skirts.

nooka · 11/04/2009 03:57

Nontoxic, most women's shoes look like a crime to me. I don't want to wear footware that damages my feet and makes it impossible for me to walk normally (ie at any speed). This www.shoes.com/Shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?p=EC1154909&pg=5078255&icid=rcm for example is not a shoe to me, but an instrument of torture. I find it very hard to understand why anyone would wear a shoe like that.

Nontoxic · 11/04/2009 08:46

I wouldn't wear shoes like that either - not only couldn't I walk in them - but they're feckin ugly!

I'm not often in the market for high heels as I don't go to many events where they're needed, but I do have a few pairs of heels which are flattering to me and my outfits - and I can walk in them with reasonable comfort - although I wouldn't want to wear them all day.

Not liking the OP's shoes doesn't mean you're condemned to wearing tortuous, equally ugly stilettos.

As ever, it's a matter of finding a happy medium.

Ronaldinhio · 11/04/2009 10:55

At the moment brogues seem to be the way forward but not for me I'm afraid.
Do any of these seem acceptable to you lovely ladies?

these

camper

slackrunner · 11/04/2009 11:00

Not for me - give me a skyscraper patent stilletto any day of the week thanks

Ronaldinhio · 11/04/2009 11:14

A place for everything and all that....

EachPAQUESPearMum · 11/04/2009 13:17

chefswife am worried I need to beware of the Canadian threat now...

ron the dkny and gstar ones are nice.. my fave and most comfy trainers ever were dkny.... wore them until they fell apart.

Actually the reason I wear flats 99% of the time is so I can wear torture instruments heels on occasion. As I said before I have gorgeous feet, which are shown off to their best in tiny vertiginous strappy affairs- but I do want to look after my sadly only decent feature!

bunnymother · 11/04/2009 21:29

That style is not a consideration.

pollywobbledoodle · 11/04/2009 22:52

ronaldino i really like the style of the moma ones

but i must say i am old and i have ms so can't do the normal gripping with my toes to hold shoes on so go for flat "noddy and big ears" ones with straps that are thick and don't cut in

nooka · 12/04/2009 00:01

Hmm. I could do a couple of those probably, but not any of the court types. I have high arches, so need small heels (about half an inch) and support around the ankles - always tricky because of the high arches. I can't do the grippy thing with my toes as it gives me shooting pains across my arches. Oh, and I have quite big feet. So finding shoes I like that I can actually wear is always tricky.
