How about 'panties' - anyone else's toes curl?

snowleopard · 09/01/2009 10:58

Why is this in style and beauty though Henry? Pedants' corner surely.

snowleopard · 09/01/2009 10:59

Yes panties just makes me think of dirty old men finding someone's knickers abandoned in a park and slavering over them. It is so porno-sounding.

PuppyMonkey · 09/01/2009 11:01

I hate the word tits and I have no idea why. Think it stems from when Tranny and Suzannah say it to their victims to be all "down with the hood." Just use bust.

Norks I like.

Notreallycutoutforthis · 09/01/2009 11:02

BTW @ Hooray, and because someone mentioned pedants... You do know that 'tit' is just a corruption of 'teat'?

PigInAPoke · 09/01/2009 11:03

oh.
how
gripping.

Aefondkiss · 09/01/2009 11:04

Boobs NOT boobies

but I like the word norks but only use it on mn.

I know breasts is the correct term but I still find it too formal.

'Titties' is what old men say.

Breasts in our house when we are trying to be sensible, otherwise its boobies for us!

TsarChasm · 09/01/2009 11:14

Lol at 'trying to be sensible'. We often try that too but usually fail

NorbertDentressangle · 09/01/2009 11:28

urgh -titties and panties sound seedy and make make skin crawl.

Boobies is a child's word.

This morning DS (4) picked up one of my bras off the chair in the bedroom, looked confused and asked me "haven't you got your boobies on yet?"

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 09/01/2009 11:29

My DH has been known to call them "nungas"..or even "humunganungas"!!

How classy!

Notreallycutoutforthis · 09/01/2009 11:40

Shall we all agree on 'ladybumps' so as not to offend?

HoorayHenry · 09/01/2009 13:38

Arf at nickschick. Its ok!

Lionstar · 09/01/2009 13:42

I always get irrationally irritated when a friend (male, 50s) of my mothers uses the expression "tough titty", just makes my hackles rise.

We have boobies in this house - sorry! One of my good friends calls then "brerries"

spottyshoes · 09/01/2009 13:45

PMSL @ Norbert's DS - That's fab

IMO Tits is far too 'adult' a word to say to a child and I would be a little appalled to hear a child say it . Titties - just plain wrong.

I have boobs. Or boobies (sorry OP) to my DS

beansontoast · 09/01/2009 13:48

grip on this piginapoke

The adults call them 'La Las' or (not sure of spelling)'fuh-luffa-luffas'in our house

dd 18 months calls them nubbles
ds 5 yrs call them boobies

(i would call them breasts more frequently but i cant quite say my Rs properly so i tend not to)

BlueSapphire77 · 09/01/2009 13:49
