OK, I know they look a bit slipper-y and probably have a host of cultural associations which have passed me by but am just thinking they look terribly comfy and warm. Anyone got them / like them / recommend them?

They are terribly comfy and warm .

paolosgirl · 31/12/2008 17:38

They look very cosy and comfy, but they can also look a bit ch-you know what-y. Be careful what you wear with them I think is the advice I'd give

fuzzywuzzy · 31/12/2008 17:47

I like them, they're really warm, and ideal for the school run imo. Especially in the current weather, I wear them with Jeans, and actually I dont care if I do look chavvy, I hate having cold feet....

lou33 · 31/12/2008 17:49

i like mine, wearing them now (black knitted) with black woolly tights and a denim mini

madrose · 31/12/2008 17:50

this company www.celtic-sheepskin.co.uk/ - 12k do fanastic boots, my dd has a pink pair and I have the ones with the toggles, my feet have died and gone to heaven

lou33 · 31/12/2008 17:51

i want these

you wrap them round your legs

VersdeSociete · 31/12/2008 17:52

Ah, my minimal resistance to them is disappearing, thank you all... Anyone got a view as to whether tall or short better? Wonder whether the short ones look more like slippers?

OP posts:
VersdeSociete · 31/12/2008 17:53

Eh, lou, not "getting" those wrappy ones...

OP posts:
lou33 · 31/12/2008 17:54

ooh but i like them so much!

as for uggs i prefer the long ones

paolosgirl · 31/12/2008 17:54

Nope, me neither Lou. Remind me of the things the WW1 soldiers wore...

VersdeSociete · 31/12/2008 17:56

Ooh I like the kids' ones on that site.

OP posts:
lou33 · 31/12/2008 17:57

my opinion will not be swayed!

paolosgirl · 31/12/2008 17:58

Small children will laugh at you as you walk past, Lou - you have been warned!!

VersdeSociete · 31/12/2008 17:59

Would one look stupid as a mostly frock wearer in these boots? I mean maybe not "apache" but the other ones?

OP posts:
Moondancer · 31/12/2008 17:59

Uggs never look clean (except when brand new)!

VersdeSociete · 31/12/2008 17:59

Small children will follow you trying to unwind your boots. And puppies...

OP posts:
VersdeSociete · 31/12/2008 18:00

Even the dark ones, do you think, moondancer?
(must look at hoiw people's uggs look)

cocolepew · 31/12/2008 18:01

They'd be good if you got a cramp, you could just wrap them tighter.

lou33 · 31/12/2008 18:02

nothing new there then

lou33 · 31/12/2008 18:02

i get cramp a lot

TheBlonde · 31/12/2008 18:03

I love mine ultra short but in sand

paolosgirl · 31/12/2008 18:06

And then if you ever have to get varicose veins removed or go on a long haul flight they can double as your surgical stockings. You'll be the 'envy' of all the other laydees!

Dark Uggs are better IMO. Def. less dirty looking.

lou33 · 31/12/2008 18:46

see, the boots have a 101 different benefits!

minxofmancunia · 31/12/2008 19:09

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Uggs!!!! Dh bought me some for xmas, I've been eyeing them up in John Lewis for weeks, he knew I wanted Uggs but didn't know the style and just guessed it right I'm SO impressed with him!!!

They're black 3/4 length fitted with a zip up one side and a buckle and a pocket on the other, quite different from normal ones.

Also have tall chesnut pair which are great for slopping about in.

From now on i will only ever wear uggs!!!!

minxofmancunia · 31/12/2008 19:10

And don't give a shit about chavviness because i love them so much!
