Well my "style" seems to be rare... or those of you like me are too shy to say it?

In the past few weeks I have posted on topics such as food, Mc Donald and TV....
Now Am I the only one who always cooks from fresh for her kids (because they enjoy the quality of the food and I like cooking), does not go to McD (they wouldn't like it as there is no way I am buying the "gift") and who thinks they have a far better time playing then watching tele.

I was quite surprised to read that several people (and I am sure thousands more) feel it's a treat to feed your kids occasional junk food... what has our society come to??? For those who have the desire, time and interest to not feed junk, allow much/any tele... is it normal that we are considered the odd ones out, the weird ones? It use to be like this (generations ago), it was the norm... now we're called all sorts of things but made to feel that we are too puritanical.

I am sure some of you are going to take this as a controversial thread, it isn't meant like that I want to know if anyone feels like this too.... I feel very lonely on Mumsnet with my more "puritanic" stance

I would never take dd to mcds or fast food joints (except Gourmet Burger but that's not fast is good)

We don't watch much telly

I feed her nearly always fresh stuff with the odd fishfinger or bought pizza when v lazy. Oh and Waitrose spinach and ricotta sauce - the little minx prefers it to my delicious home made one grrrr.

Am in NO WAY puritanical though!

Cod - your thread spurred me but I wasn't angry... just feel generally that I am in a tiny minority......

I also cook fresh food for dd, but she does watch TV most days.
However she doesn't listen to pop music, only classical, jazz, latin, french songs (poor mite I hear you say ).... And for that I definitely feel in the minority.....

. Each to his/her own. I cook fresh 99% of the time. I myself eat healthily 99% of the time but there are also times when I crave crisps, burgers, fries, chocolate. And watch TV. It's all a matter of balance IMO.

FrenchGirl · 21/03/2005 19:39

pah he's belgian and crap (no offence intended to belgian people)

wobblyknicks · 21/03/2005 19:40

I cook lots of good wholesome food for dd and she doesn't watch much tv (but does watch some!!) but the poor thing never gets kiddy music, or even classical stuff, she gets Scissor Sisters and Robbie Williams

My dd eats fresh food, very rarely watches any tv, then only noddy. I wouldn't dream of taking her to McD's or eating there myself. She listens to lots of music...

...including Edith Piaf!!

Guess that makes me a minority of one!
