Yup, me. Still waiting. Bloody grrr. Am thinking of phoning today to find out what's going on. Postage was expensive too - c.£6!

Libra1975 · 19/11/2008 12:08

Still waiting
To be fair on their website they do specify 7-10 workings days for delivery we are just spoilt in our instantaneous gratification society However they may lose a sale because of it as I want to see what the black dress looks like before ordering the brown.

Fantastic thread, thank you. I thought my days of shopping at Ghost had long gone.

Glad they have been rescued. Heard they suffered with the collapse of Iceland and even though I haven't bought anything for more than five years I did hope to again! But which one .

littlestrawberry · 19/11/2008 14:37

I'm still waiting for my ghost dresses too. They took my money on the 13th

lovelysongbirdfliesaway · 19/11/2008 14:39

triff i have that one in plum, its really lovely isn't it.

what do you wear yours with ?

Libra1975 · 19/11/2008 14:56

YEs littlestrawberry they took my money immediatly as well - little cheeky of them I think, most places don't take the money until the order has been sent.

triffictits · 19/11/2008 22:06

lovelysongbirds - yes i love mine - they are quite flattering arent they?

I wear mine with black tights and my black boots - they are flat riding boots.

I got my email yesterday saying it had been dispatched. I have no idea when that means it will turn up, that's ok as long as I have it for Christmas day!

Penthesileia · 21/11/2008 14:51

My Ghost Gershwin dress arrived today. It's nice enough, though I'm very glad I didn't pay £150 for it. £40 seems reasonable - it's not that spectacular.

For people who were wondering, it seems to be cut very large. I'm 5'8", and take an 8-10 usually, and the XS is quite roomy on me. It's long too (both in length - knee - and arm - which is good, as I'm something of an ape). I imagine it would be enormous on anyone smaller.

I'm quite big in the chest department too, and if it weren't possible to undo some of the buttons to create a v-neck effect, it wouldn't be that flattering. If you were much bigger than me (32 FF), I'm not sure it'd be that ideal.

Gosh, I sound very negative. I do like it, and it's nice and warm. But certainly only worth it in the sale, IYSWIM.

My beautifully packaged black Gershwin Ghost dress arrived today - it's taken 5 working days to arrive. I'm 34DD 12/14 top half, size 12 lower half and I ordered size S which is the right size. If you were only just a 12 or a 10 then XS would be the better fit. Unusually this is one dress where I could afford to be even bustier to really fill it out, on me it looks rather demure, although have foxed it up with the glam tights and heels. Agree with Penthesileia that is isn't really worth £185 but for £45 it's fine. I'm 5ft 6 and it stops just on the knee.

My gershwin dress arrived and has been sent back I'm a small size 14, pear shaped and the Medium was much too big. Being small of nork I don't think even a small would have been very flattering.

Beautifully packaged but you definitely need norks to carry it off I think.

Libra1975 · 21/11/2008 19:39

Just bought this shop.ghost.co.uk/shop/dresses/filigree_dress/D08/?page=0

It's fantastic, not worth £150 but deffo worth £50 will look great with boots.

It's great I feel like doing a magazine article saying "and during the day you can wear it with a polo neck underneath and then come 5pm you can whip off your poloneck add some statement jewellery and you are ready for cocktails after work"
Not that I would ever do that.

paddingtonbear1 · 21/11/2008 23:11

christiana I am a 10/12 on top and ordered an S too. Am wondering if it will fit... had an email today saying it's been despatched.

well I got mine today and I do like it, think I will keep it. The only thing wrong really is the arms, they are a bit long and 'flappy'! It fits pretty well, I am more a 12 than a 10 though at the moment. I have quite a large chest, if you don't it could well be a bit on the big side. It doesn't really fit on the shoulders either - I'm quite narrow. Think I'll still keep it though, it's very comfy.

paddingtonbear1 · 25/11/2008 10:19

christiana have you got yours yet?

lovelysongbirdfliesaway · 25/11/2008 13:09

triff, i love mine so much i might get the grey one too, or is that too dull two dresses the same just different colours

Nezzi · 25/11/2008 13:14

I ordered mine on 17th, still not heard anything. I e-mailed to change to a size small so I don't know if that has held things up a bit?

triffictits · 25/11/2008 13:34

thats funny you said that lovely - I am also thinking of getting the wine coloured dress too, so maybe we are both dull!
Its so lovely though and i get lots of compliments on it, which is odd as i dont normally wear dresses!!

lovelysongbirdfliesaway · 25/11/2008 13:37

triff i just started a thread about it.
lol
its just so nice i can't find anything else i like as much.
i've also seen some grey ugg style boots i'd like to wear with the grey dress, shall i try and find a link?

i would love a dark or teal green knitted dress.

lovelysongbirdfliesaway · 25/11/2008 13:37
