after reading a horrid thread in aibu, where can i get a nice knitted dress

i fancy getting 1 or 2 for the winter to wear with boots

I have the black peacocks one tilly linked to earlier on

like she said a bargain at £12, and it doesnt look cheap either

I've ordered the Ghost dress but it hasn't arrived yet so can't comment on sizing. According to their website I'm a S when normally I'm a M.

Glad you liked the Peacocks one TSM, has it washed ok? The one I had shrunk into a shape completely unforgiving and had to go back. There are a fair few of them in store but not online.

Springflower I saw that dress on a mannequin, it is indeed a little short but it is really lovely, simple and would look great with a pair of jeans and dressy boots if you didn't want to show too much leg. I have to admit I did stop and pause but it's too short for me and I'm the wrong shape to wear this length top over jeans (the jeans would need to be fitted)

Heated - the black one washed ok. I haven't washed the green one yet (and it looks/feels like slightly different fabric for some reason).

Any thoughts on the chocolate brown with black boots/tights issue ? Shall I start another thread ?

MN is lethal - I come onto the thread to contribute about the £12 Peacocks dress and end up contemplating ordering two (or more ?) Ghost dresses

Tilly,have wondered that about brown/black,as my new biker boots are brown.
What about finding a long necklace with both colours in,to tie it all together?

Thanks Libra, I really want one that I dont have to wear over jeans / trousers and so it sounds a bit short. I just bought a knitted dress from oasis and wore it last Friday and just felt bare all night! Like I had forgotten to put on my trousers. Decided I definately want longer this time!!

You don't have to wear it over something but you would have to be happy with your legs.

saw some nice ones in COS yesterday, around £55 mark, all high/crew necked though so no good for me this winter (breastfeeding)

I'm a 12-14 (more 12 bottom, 14 top) and the small fits well. Have 36 DD norks. Am 5' 7" and length is just below knee

Oh - and for those worried about the Dry Clean only - the label on the dress actually says cool hand wash or dry clean

Paddington - glad to know my psychic powers are still working I suspect it would be mid calf length on you but its quite a straight fitted skirt so still might look ok ?

I bought a lovely grey one in Next today - fits really well and slightly flairs at bottom. They had it in plum too. Was £35 which isnt bad for what it is.

I haven't used customer service but would definitely say that the sizing is generous. I was very chuffed to be classed as "small" for once

Customer service were good when I phoned up to cancel some of my order, however there delivery is terrible, I ordered last Tuesday and it still isn't here.
