..handbag?
If you do, what kind?
Are thye worth it?
If you don't, would you get one if you could afford it, or if someone wanted to buy you one as a gift?

my best friend used to work at marc jacobs and gave me a bag about 7 years ago - its still fabulous and gets comments! i dont think i could have spent that money myself but i am glad to have it, and am keeping it for my dd to have as a vintage bag oneday - if i buy myself i spend about £100 - theres a great canadian lable called matt and nat who do really fabulous bags, in great colours for about htat price.

i think it's the price of a deposit on a house, lula.

you should have seen her engagement ring!

and their marital house (wisely sold before the crash).

and her divorce settlement .

when i was working at the university there was one student who constantly gave me bag envy.

oooo, her Mulberries.

even the smell of the leatha'.

reminded me of a brand new, hand-tooled saddle.

i have two louis vuitton bags. well worth the £££, chose classic designs in the brown leather monogram, not fashiony, the leather gets better with age, and i adore them. have a matching coin purse and make up bag . i feel very special when i go out all kitted out with my LV bits.

I have a semi-expensive Russel and Bromley bag which is lovely for every day use. And a v expensive and tiny Loewe handbag for very best occasions, which I will still be using when I'm 90 and intend to pass on to my daughter. It is absolutely the most beautiful thing in the world and still makes me happy every time I use it. I was going to Spain on business a lot at the time I bought it and used to walk past the Loewe shop in Madrid every day - and one day I got fed up of pressing my nose to the glass and went in and bought it. Never spent that much on anything apart from a house before or since.

I have a Marc Jacobs bag.

Admittedly it's a denim tote with a picture of Debbie Harry on it, but it's still a MJ bag .
