I can't afford Dermalogica anymore. What's a good cheaper alternative?

For acne-prone skin, even though I'm 34

I'll eventually need scrub, mask, moisturiser, the works really. Meanwhile I will eke out every last drop of my beloved Dermalogica products (they really made my skin fabulous for the first time ever).

Which products are you trying to replicate? Active Moist, I would guess? What else?

Do you really have to stop buying them? If they're the only product to work for you, you'll be miserable if your spots come back, and this doesn't seem worth the saving, if you see what I mean. Plus, you could spend loads looking for a cheap alternative (cheap is only cheap if you get it right first time). Do you buy from BeautyFlash?

I don't work for Dermalogica, btw!!! But beauty products are the one thing I treat myself to - esp. Dermalogica which I also think is worth the money.

Plus, if you buy the big sizes, they last ages... I was using their big size toner for nearly a year!!

Hi Bumperlicious... Well, I think it is, and it certainly works for me (that and some Clarins products). You can buy little starter packs for about £15-20 to see how you get on with the products.

Yes I do buy on beautyflash.
I would indeed hate to waste money on cheaper stuff that makes me skin worse. Just wondered if anyone had found anything else effective. Liz Earle for example?

I've been contemplating dermalogica, having read rave reports on here. My skin is shite and has been pretty much since I was about 20 (am now 40).

So, where is cheapest to get it? Should I go for a facial first and get all the right stuff recommended, or do self-diagnosis?

I can't really afford it either, naturelover, but my skin makes me so miserable sometimes I'm thinking of splashing what little cash I have in the hope it will help....

Well, if you were after Skin Smoothing Cream-alike, apparently (according to friend's boyfriend who is a journalist and knows some beauty editor or other), there is a Neutrogena moisturiser which is a dead-ringer. Can't remember which one off the top of my head. Hmmm - sorry - not very helpful. Will find out if it's any use to you.

their microfoliant is excellent.

It's a daily one. I ran out of it and ended up buying the Garnier Pure Deep Pore wash (the gritty one) as a stopgap. I've found that it is as good as dermalogica (I have spot prone but sensitive skin that goes red and blotchy if I try anything too harsh).

So I saved about £15 on face wash but then I discovered Dior moisturiser which is £37 a pot and swapped my Dermalogica one for that, so my £15 saving was swallowed up again. My skin has never been as good as it is now, I swear that's down to the moisturiser. I know it's a lot of money but imo it is sooooooo worth it.

My view is sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. If something works, and from reading the posts from those that buy dermalogica the majority say it does.

Personally, I'd rather sacrifice the odd glass or two of wine than waste a load of time testing skin care products.

I can recommend this company and think they are a bit cheaper than beautyflash.

I have to say that Dermalogica is worth the money and does last for ages. I wouldn't bother trying to find something else. I suffer badly with rosacea and everything was aggravating my skin. I ended up not using any moisturiser because it was painful therefore making skin dehydrated too. Have been using Dermalogica for last 3 months and my skin is sooooo much better. If they make your skin feel fab try and save money elsewhere -false economy otherwise.

I havent seen Dermalogica any cheaper than in the Salons. My friend is a beautician and cant even sell me it at cost!! It does work though and, when Ive been broke, Ive tried everything from Body Shop to Superdrug. Its just not the same and it does last for ages so I would stick with it.

I use this site it's reliable and the cheapest I've found plus they always send samples with each delivery. Dermalogica stuff lasts for ages, the skin smoothing cream is my favourite and it's under £20.

I've just been and had a Dermalogica facial today and thinking of investing in the microfoliant... my skin was so smooth and clean. I've been spending loads on money on Eve Lom and Creme de la Mer, but I think in comparison Dermalogica will work out quite cheap, and according to my therapist, who I really trust, it lasts for ages, saving me the money I end up spending on lots of cheap stuff.
