Don't all flame me, but are Ugg classic cardy boots a bit passe?

Will I fall at the first hurdle of school gate style, if I get a pair in Oatmeal to see me through the next couple of terms?

Advice please before I shell out for something that I will be laughed at for.

I do really like them.

i really like them too, go on treat yourself.

Dozymare · 03/09/2008 16:59

I thnk they are lovely......and shall be investing myself shortly

moodlumthehoodlum · 03/09/2008 17:00

I think so. I'm not particularly thin, though, so I might look a bit chunky in them, but I think I'll see if I can find a pair on the interweb.

Thanks

moodlumthehoodlum · 03/09/2008 17:07

What are my options though for throw on style on cold mornings then, boot wise?

OP posts:
SheikYerbouti · 03/09/2008 17:07

there are lots of other comfy shoes around

Uggs are yuksville, imho

hf128219 · 03/09/2008 17:07

If you actually like them - get them!

woodenchair · 03/09/2008 17:08

can you stretch to winter soles? they look much better imo and last for ages. I'm about to do the 3rd winter in mine

moodlumthehoodlum · 03/09/2008 17:09

what are winter soles?

yes, what are winter soles??!! I like the fact UGGS are not stiff leather boots with zips that dig onto your legs!

boogeek · 04/09/2008 10:36

I am tempted too but a bit put off by the fact you only ever see them worn with skinny jeans. Am not a skinny jean person. Does anybody have any alternative suggestions?

Fimbo · 04/09/2008 10:38

Primark have got rip offs - with a sturdy sole for £6. £4 for the ankle ones.

I personally don't like them and people always end up walking in on them

ladytophamhatt · 04/09/2008 10:40

outdoor slippers.

CourtneyLush · 04/09/2008 10:45

Uggs are horrible, why would you want to walk round looking like you've forgotten to put the other half of your chewbacca fancy dress outfit on!!

BloodySmartarseToTheRescue · 04/09/2008 10:50

all you detractors, you have to put some ON and then youll know why people like em. they are a lush lazy sunday morning in bed with 99tog duvet and full english breakfast for feet. i shit you not, they are heaven to wear.
[orders a new pair as mine are 3 yrs old now and the sheepskin inners not as lush anymore]

BloodySmartarseToTheRescue · 04/09/2008 10:52

ok, so my question is; does anyone know where the cheapest place to get real uggs is? fakes a false economy imo/e...

psychomum5 · 04/09/2008 10:56

I used to hate uggs, and TBH, I still won;t buy them.

BUT

DD1 has the fake ones from primark, and she is my size shoe how. I tried them one morning rushing to the docs (and was being too lazy to find my boots). OMG were they comfy.

I see the attraction now.....altho I will still only steal borrow hers

KezzaG · 04/09/2008 11:00

What about a pair of snowjoggers, apparently they are the new UGGS. Quite fancy a pair myself but I dont know if I have the legs for them, I might have a bit of an Oompah Loompah about me if I wear them.

Pinkjenny · 04/09/2008 11:01

I love my Uggs, and will not be parted from them in the winter. But I am a Scouser, so don't listen to me.

tyaca · 04/09/2008 11:02

oooh, the cardy boots are great. saving up as even online they're rarely under £100. aldo has almost identical ones for £60 btw inc in otameal. buy 'em! mch nicer and less ubiquitous than normal uggs
