Don't all flame me, but are Ugg classic cardy boots a bit passe?

Will I fall at the first hurdle of school gate style, if I get a pair in Oatmeal to see me through the next couple of terms?

Advice please before I shell out for something that I will be laughed at for.

I do really like them.

Primark has rip offs of those too Kezza.

KezzaG · 04/09/2008 11:03

Ooh do they, I might have to get myself down there. NO one point paying a fortune for stumpy legs after all!!

CourtneyLush · 04/09/2008 11:04

Lol at PinkJenny, seriously when I see them I always wonder 'where's the head?' Slipper socks are comfy but I wouldn't wander the streets in them.

Fimbo · 04/09/2008 11:04

I was in yesterday - they only had them left in small sizes

frankiesbestfriend · 04/09/2008 11:04

I have worn my Ugg Cardis to death, and I think it's only the cheap rip offs you end up walking in on, the real thing doesn't do that.

Grey ones are nice too. and you can wear them buttoned about 3 different ways, and make them tall or short.

woodenchair · 04/09/2008 11:06

These are winter soles.

I managed to get some off ebay a couple of years ago as they are ££ new! But Dotty p had some last year and rocket dog do nice ones.

Pinkjenny · 04/09/2008 11:09

I really like them, woodenchair. I'm in the market for some black ones this year. May try ebay, as dh will not authorise £200 on Uggs when I have two perfectly good brown pairs.

Fimbo · 04/09/2008 11:12

The Primark ones have winter soles.

woodenchair · 04/09/2008 11:37

How about these? They are sheepskin lined too rather than synthetic. For the last 2 years I've worn my boots outside and snugglies indoors. They aren't pretty but are very comfy and warm.

Katiekitty · 04/09/2008 13:15

I've got a question - what happens to the Ugg Cardy boots when they get wet? Do they go funny and/or smell or are they ok? Apologies in advance if this is a daft question

Marla are they £185 or am I reading that wrong?

filthymindedvixen · 04/09/2008 15:48

What I cannot bear about Uggs (fake or otherwise) is the way teenage girls cannot walk in them and make this really slovenly raspy raspy sound as they walk. I want to yell ''pick your feet up luv'' t them

georgimama · 04/09/2008 15:50

Cheapest place to get real Uggs is Australia.

I don't care if they are fashionable or not, I love love love mine.

MrsMattie · 04/09/2008 15:57

I'm a big Ugg fan, but not sure about the cardi ones to be honest...

AmIWhatAndWhy · 04/09/2008 15:58

Uggs are Ugg.

lizandlulu · 04/09/2008 16:15

i went looking for a pair today as i have chunky legs (well not just my legs and wanted to make sure they fitted before i tried to get some off ebay, but couldnt find any

PoorOldEnid · 04/09/2008 16:16

I wouldnt get them as there are too many smelly £10 rip offs

PoorOldEnid · 04/09/2008 16:18

my school run boot this year

lizandlulu · 04/09/2008 16:18

i would think about getting a fake pair if they were good, but i havent seen any of the cardi ones about. loads of fake normal uggs but not the cardi ones.
i got some fake normal ones form primark and chucked them out, i couldnt walk properly in them. i was like one of the teenagers

Nbg · 04/09/2008 16:21

I love Uggs.

I've just bought some Emu's that were reduced to £19.99 and they are fab.
I stupidly wore my brown leather boots to do the school run today and my feet were sodden when I got home.

filthymindedvixen · 04/09/2008 16:25

enid - they are lovely - but are they very wide calf??

Yes but, do they honk if they get wet?
How long does it take for them to dry out?

moodlumthehoodlum · 04/09/2008 22:42

I hadn't thought about what happens if they get wet, but after this morning in the tipping rain, I think that maybe a cardy boot might not be a wise choice.
