Don't all flame me, but are Ugg classic cardy boots a bit passe?

Will I fall at the first hurdle of school gate style, if I get a pair in Oatmeal to see me through the next couple of terms?

Advice please before I shell out for something that I will be laughed at for.

I do really like them.

Found some

Clarks (won't let me do the link) - under casual boots - one called Nooey Fun (which is a shame) in red suede (appreciate I'm not selling these very well) or Novice Hurdle (again, not ideal names) which are a little furry.

DH unconvinced.

OK you are all Bad Influences and I have decided I have to have some, even if that involves buying new jeans and a gym membership to do something about the saddlebag thighs. Am now worrying about all the rip-offs people talk about (I want real ones): how do I know if these are ok?

Heifer · 05/09/2008 16:34

Now I hate crocs, but could do Uggs.

like these ones, but wonder if very practical, anyone have these? any views

andiem · 05/09/2008 16:41

I have these they are fab

Dozymare · 05/09/2008 17:59

heifer why are they so cheap??!!!

moodlumthehoodlum · 05/09/2008 18:10

Heifer I love those. They are almost exactly what I want.

But, would I be right in thinking that with a short (ish) skirt, those short ones would be a bit odd?

No idea why they are so cheap just realised that if you change the currency they are only £52.42, although they seem to be from a site in China.

Yes I guess they won't look so great with a skirt but as I never wear skirts not an issue for me

But do you think they would be ok in the rain etc?

Pinions · 06/09/2008 14:14

I can't believe they are still "en vogue" might succumb and get some......not sure how they'll manage in the rain/snow etc etc.

ChupitosGalore · 11/09/2008 18:08

YO

i hvae today discovered these slightly different cardy ugg-style boots i think they look much nicer... do you reckon they are liable to disappoint in the comfort/durability stakes at 155 smackeroonies?

I AM ASKING PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY LIKE UGGS BTW thangyew

PurlyQueen · 11/09/2008 20:25

Fake Uggs = false economy.

The fake ones look manky, look gross and make your feet sweaty.

ChupitosGalore · 11/09/2008 23:02

well yes, i know cheapy fake ones do that... but can these really be shit at 155 quid??

PinkyDinkyDooToo · 12/09/2008 10:30

I have Fake Uggs from CostCo. They are different from other fakes in that they are real sheepskin. ALso only £19.99 +vat. THey have them in at the moment. Really nice and cosy
