I know it's still summer, but it feels like autumn so come and make your winter boots recomendations.

In a fit of organisation I threw out ALL of my winter boots as I'd had them all years and they were looking quite tatty. Now I'm faced with the task of replacing them all.

I'm on a much tighter budget now than I thought I would be when I threw them out so the prospect of finding nice reasonably priced ones is daunting.

So help me find some please.

I need Brown Knee length, Black Knee Length and a pair of ankle lenght ones (not fussed about colour)

Got these in brown two years ago, red last year and will get black this year if they are still being made. Love them, very comfy, hardwearing.

these looked great in the shop window sort of half done up with tights and socks

drowninginlaundry · 27/08/2008 06:51

In the latest SHE magazine they had a gorgeous pair of brown riding boots from Dorothy Perkins, £70. They are not online or I would have bought them meself

lizandlulu · 27/08/2008 15:27

these is some stunning boots aobut at the mo. i treated myself to some flat tan leather calf lenght ones form evans ( i have fat legs) mum and my mate didnt like them but i love them. they have a slouchy feel to them.

DarrellRivers · 27/08/2008 18:08

Ah yes ggirl, I saw those gorgeous All Saints ones today in the shop
Had already purchased a biker jacket and lots of tops plus raincoat, so couldn't really justify the shoes as well, but I think I want those boots
Now have to find £155 to purchase them
I love autumn/winter

Moomin · 27/08/2008 20:50

eeee - ggirl, the ones you linked to look like the cartoon boots that get fished out of canals when characters go fishing! I'd look like a right old tramp in them

Hogiabach · 28/08/2008 12:35

These are my best pair look they are pricey but worth every penny.

DarrellRivers · 28/08/2008 13:33

ooh hogiabach, I love the eternity boot
may have to save though

Hogiabach · 28/08/2008 20:32

Yes it's stunning! I always visit the store where they stock them and drool! Doubt I'll get another pair though

Fimbo · 28/08/2008 20:35

I have the black Dr Marten ones that Bike linked too. If you see anything you like check them out on Amazon first. I got the Dr M's for £35 from there last year.

Fimbo · 28/08/2008 20:41

I want these in the camel colour

southeastastra · 28/08/2008 20:43

i like these

MrsMattie · 28/08/2008 20:47

Another recent MN thread inspired me to order these beauties

Also got these as a cheapo, more high-heeled alternative

Plus still got a a couple of pairs of Uggs from last year.

Still want some really dressy boots, though...

DarrellRivers · 29/08/2008 08:52

Fimbo, I had those fly-london boots last year, looked great but the zip broke at EAster time, which is terrible I think for a pair of boots
I expect my boots to last for several seasons

maidamess · 29/08/2008 08:55

I want something like these, but cheapo

Fimbo · 29/08/2008 15:59

Did you complain DR? That's quite shocking tbh.

DarrellRivers · 29/08/2008 16:43

Was meant to, but the boots were in the cellar and DH threw them away in a fit of tidying
It's a shame as I like Fly London's style, but I'm not buying winter boots from them again

hattyyellow · 08/09/2008 14:34

Was just wondering about winter boots when I saw this thread - all hail MN.

Fimbo or Bikerunski - I am in love with the Doctor Marten boots...

Would you mind telling me whether they are knee height or mid calf? I'm 5"6ish so average height.

Can't work out from the pictures and we are miles from the nearest store so would need to buy online..

andiem · 08/09/2008 14:36

I have these for this year very snuggly

boogeek · 08/09/2008 14:40

I fancy these which I spotted on another MN thread earlier in the week. I have a fancy for some Victorian-ish little heels with lace-ups though.

rrrayray · 08/09/2008 22:34

dorothy perkins have some lovely boots, with lovely price tags too! xxx

WilfSell · 08/09/2008 22:41

i have just taken delivery of these perfect for walking to school and work in the rain...

cremolafoam · 08/09/2008 22:45

i am desperate for a knee length pair in navy blue. The only ones i have seen are at Bodenland and they cost the price of a small principality.
hmmm

SorenLorensen · 08/09/2008 22:52

hattyyellow, I have those DM boots and I'm 5'7" - they are mid calf, not knee high.

I have the Fly Mol ones too - they are knee high.

Oh and I second looking on Amazon - I got another pair of the DM boots for about £30 last year (so I have a black pair and a brown pair )

JanieF · 10/09/2008 05:34

The boots I currently covet are these--I've bought Cydwoq before, and the quality is worth the price. For a shorter boot, I adore this pair, although I admit I feel a little short of breath when I think about the cost.
