I know it's still summer, but it feels like autumn so come and make your winter boots recomendations.

In a fit of organisation I threw out ALL of my winter boots as I'd had them all years and they were looking quite tatty. Now I'm faced with the task of replacing them all.

I'm on a much tighter budget now than I thought I would be when I threw them out so the prospect of finding nice reasonably priced ones is daunting.

So help me find some please.

I need Brown Knee length, Black Knee Length and a pair of ankle lenght ones (not fussed about colour)

CostaRicanCod · 10/09/2008 07:30

weepootle · 10/09/2008 08:11

cremolafoam I was coveting the Boden blue ones as well but I found these and I got them in a girls size 5 - they are fab! The ones in the link look a bit weird as they're the toddler ones btw.

I also just treated myself to these which I used to hate but are really lovely and just the comfiest things ever.

BiancaCastafiore · 10/09/2008 09:09

I have been contemplating the DM ones for a while but love the Dune boots Cod linked to...how practical is suede for every day wear though?

notwavingjustironing · 10/09/2008 09:13

I am getting these on Friday...

(The brown ones with all the buttons down)

ScummyMummy · 10/09/2008 09:55

Arrrgh notwaving! Did you have to link to that JShilton site? They have so many fab shoes and I am skint and must not be tempted under any circs....

hattyyellow · 10/09/2008 10:11

Soren thanks for that - I too need knee length, calf length look funny on me..

Am tempted by either the fly london mol or the dune suede boots - although it breaks my heart to admit suede boots would end up looking a state in my house - we live in t'country and I step straight into a muddy bog as soon as I leave the house .

Janie the Cwdwoq boots are just gorgeous - I am coveting this pair...just not sure I can justify the price to my bank manager..do they last for ever and ever?

CostaRicanCod · 10/09/2008 15:43

i dont liek ridgn boot tbh

JanieF · 10/09/2008 21:39

hattyyellow, yes, Cydwoqs really do last forever! I've just gone through another summerthe fifthin my favorite pair of Cydwoq sandals, and they still look as good as the day I bought them. Plus, they've conformed to fit my feet exactly. When I bought them, I felt embarrassed to be spending so much on sandals, but they quickly made me a Cydwoq convert. I now have six pairs, ranging from boots to closed-toe shoes, and I love them all. Truly, money well spent.

platypussy · 10/09/2008 22:11

Hatty and Soren - I too need knee high boots and the ones I really like are (sorry cant do links) Angeline Tournier 'Colorado' Boots either the dragon or rose design in black. The other ones are schuh 'Kaleb' boots in black.

hattyyellow · 12/09/2008 11:49

Thanks so much Janey and Platy am still quite tempted by the Cydwoq but think DH might faint at price! Although he's always saying I should buy far less clothes and buy well made, long lasting things rather than high street which falls apart...tempting!

Platy will google your suggestions..

snowleopard · 12/09/2008 11:57

I care not for fashion, but I need a wide round toe and knee length - so I got these

I love them, they are cosy and look great with a skirt. I've had destroy boots before too and they wear in beautifully and last for years.

spudballoo · 14/09/2008 14:14

Oh no this is DiSASTEROUS! I am now salivating in the most unbecoming manner at the Fiorentini & Baker stuff. Where can I buy it in the UK? Have been googling but not coming up with anything

I...MUST....HAVE....THEM.....

spudballoo · 16/09/2008 14:39

Bump...can no one help me blow loads of money on boots?!

NotAnOtter · 22/09/2008 20:50

NotAnOtter · 22/09/2008 20:51

NotAnOtter · 22/09/2008 20:52

fishie · 22/09/2008 20:54

spud i got a little obsessed with those b&f too. that site is in belgium, couldn't find them anywhere outside america. my neighbour is beligique but don't think a cheaper postage will help much

NotAnOtter · 22/09/2008 21:00

snowleopard i have had those for a couple of years now and LUUUURved them

binned now but still miss them

carmenelectra · 22/09/2008 21:04

Is it just me or do most of you have to buy a couple of pairs? I like flat ones for day or rain etc and a pair with heels for going for meal, not doing much walking etc. i HATE winter cos everything costs so much. Summer is great(when we have it) cos you can get vest tops for £3

snowleopard · 22/09/2008 21:06

Otter my last pair were good for about 6 years! New ones still being broken in, but on their way

Get some more!

NotAnOtter · 22/09/2008 21:18

where did you get them snowleopard? ( yearning!)

snowleopard · 22/09/2008 21:32

At the site I linked to - hang on...

Go to www.rawshoe.co.uk/, choose destroy from the brand names drop-down menu, and they're on the second page. Lots of other scrummy boots too
