OP posts:

Clothes threads on MN in the last week, are getting truely offensive.
I LOVE shirts on boys.
Ds has always had loads. They are so smart.

Oblomov · 31/07/2008 21:56

OP, many of you don't like this. Like who. Who doesn't like shirts.
You are mad.
A proper shirt and a pair of smart trousers/shorts on a little boy.
God there is nothing smarter.
What do your ds's wear when they go to a party then ?
Madness

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/07/2008 21:56

have just posted a post about general snappishness on MN today and realise that I was being a bit unneccesarily chippy about shirts earlier in the thread..someone says there is an eclipse due tomorrow, so blame that and the general stormy atmosphere

RustyBear · 31/07/2008 22:04

This particular shirt with a collar has looked good on 5 little boys (my two brothers, two nephews & DS) and 3 little girls (my sister, me & DD)so far - it's over 50 years old & may make it to the grandchildren....

wornoutwaitress · 31/07/2008 22:05

if we go to a party ds wears a pear of smart shorts and a tshirt.

fin42 · 31/07/2008 22:48

I love my little boy (3yrs) in shirts, and when it's really hot (not often I grant you) I think a thin cotton shirt is cooler than a t-shirt.

EffiePerine · 01/08/2008 08:39

Pruners: where do you find patterns for tank tops? Would love to knit DS something like that...

(also have 50s clothing vibe going on, but DS is a very 50s looking child)

I agree that some threads/posters on mn are getting v bitcy...from hair styles on certain women to dressing lo's in "awful" clothing to shirts on boys...

Why do these people think they can comment... Surley each to their own.
Different strokes for different folks otherwise we would all look, smell, talk etc the same.

Hulababy · 01/08/2008 10:03

I like to see little boys, and toddlers, in shirts and in polo type shirts too, with collars. I think it looks nice, depending on design/colour, etc. And trousers.

Little babies I like to see in babygros and romper suits, but once you get to a few months old it is nice to see them in other clothes sometimes.

I know lots of people who like this kind of look for their little boys.

And none of the little boys look odd in them or remotely like "mini men" or whatever.

So I supposed short sleeved open shirts with rolled up sleeves over a t shirt isnt gonna cut it for most of the people on here? Layering has got to be the way to go.... slinks off into the corner.

Ellbell · 02/08/2008 14:26

I recently bought what I thought were very cute short-sleeved shirts with collars for a friend's two sons. I thought they were cute and smart but not fussy. Definitely didn't equate them with tartlet outfits for girls (which I avoid like the plague for my dds, obviously). I didn't realise this was a fashion faux pas!

Ellbell · 02/08/2008 14:34

So, is this sort of thing very very wrong?

LisaLessLumpy · 02/08/2008 14:40

Nope, not at all, I like it and my boys would look lovely wearing it

shhhh · 02/08/2008 19:27

ellbell, now that top would create bedlum (sp..?) on the thread from last week .

It would have lost of mum quivering at the sight lol!!!
