I love my ds in little shirts - its worth the ironing.

He had a lovely one blue and white from John Lewis with sleeves that rolled up with a little button tag to secure them. Now grown out of it.

PinkTulips · 31/07/2008 15:35

pruners, what did you have to go and link to monsoon for

every few months i fall in love with something from there that i can't justify spending the money on, drives me mad!

I can't stand the sight of boys in shirts, I just don't get the alleged cuteness.

The men & boys here do T shirts and T shirts only. Shirts are for work & school.

PinkTulips · 31/07/2008 18:48

ooo, i like that approach pruners. i've pledged to start buying them only proper quality stuff from now on as i'm sick to death of cheap clothes falling apart before they've grown out of them.

i have a serious lust affair with monsoon but all i've ever bought there for them was a christening dress for dd that i still take out of the cupboard and fondle at least once a week

LisaLessLumpy · 31/07/2008 19:04

I put both my boys in shirts, one is 10 months the other is three and I think they look great, I am always complimented on how cute they look. Ds1 loves his shirts

derelicte · 31/07/2008 19:06

Fark I've just bought DS (2) his first ever shirt for a wedding without realising I'd contravened MN regulations. I'll have to take it back.

DisenchantedPlusBump · 31/07/2008 19:07

Nappy addict, how old is your DS?

I have the verbaudet shirt, doesn't fit my LO anymore.

You can have it if you want?

Just as new, only worn once to a party. Have the shorts too somewhere

southeastastra · 31/07/2008 19:14

my son wears shirts with a tie and a pinstripe jacket. he changes into them after school.

last night i had to try and take the jacket and tie off him whilst he was fast asleep.

My2Monkeys · 31/07/2008 20:08

I love my boys in shirts - can't see anything wrong with them looking like "little men" (as long as they're comfy of course) - I'm rather proud of my little men, in fact! But then I prefer shirts on men too. Tank tops, yuck! T-shirts ok (although my DH hates them). Love roll necks on DH (when it's cold, obviously), otherwise I prefer shirts with a collar. Sue me

Only reason my boys don't wear shirts more often is that I can't be bothered ironing them!

Fimbo · 31/07/2008 20:11

I didn't like shirts on ds until he was about 3, because they didn't seem to sit properly round the neck. I love them know, he has about 3 of the Asda £2.50 cheapos and they wash and wash and wash - they are great.

orangehead · 31/07/2008 20:13

I think both look nice

nappyaddict · 31/07/2008 20:30

disenchanted what size are they in? ds is in 18-24 or 2-3.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 31/07/2008 20:31

actually 18-24 probably wouldn't fit from there cos they come up small don't they. 2-3 or 3-4 best.

ThingOne · 31/07/2008 20:33

I'd no idea that shirts were unacceptable for small boys. Mine both normally wear tshirts with long or short sleeves but they both have a couple of shirts. I think they are very useful when it is hot as they are so lightweight. Few of ours get ironed.

Last week DS1 had a leaving nursery party and chose a smart-ish shirt he rarely wears as he had "an important meeting", just as DH wears a nicer shirt when he does. I thought it was cute he had understood the idea of dressing for the occasion much as I thought it cute the first time he asked to lay the table for lunch.

DisenchantedPlusBump · 31/07/2008 20:34

18-24

i have the matching jacket aswell

nappyaddict · 31/07/2008 20:35

how much would you want for it?

OP posts:
DisenchantedPlusBump · 31/07/2008 20:36

For the shirt alone?

Or shirt jacket and shorts?

nappyaddict · 31/07/2008 20:37

for the set please.

OP posts:
DisenchantedPlusBump · 31/07/2008 20:41

umm about £12 with recorded delivery?

He really has only worn it once.

Jacket was about £15

nappyaddict · 31/07/2008 20:44

I'll have a think. I think it might be a bit small. He's got a set from there already that he's growing out of so I'll check what size that is.

OP posts:
DisenchantedPlusBump · 31/07/2008 20:46

No worries, its just been sat in his wardrobe for months and im having a clear out ;)

DisenchantedPlusBump · 31/07/2008 20:49

If its too much I could do it for a tenner.

Let me know if you change your mind x

shhhh · 31/07/2008 21:30
