How long would you wear clothes for? I only wear tops once before wash, unless I'd only wore them for a short time and hadn't spilt stuff on it or sweated . But I would wear my jeans for ,erm, longer .

Dropdeadfred · 15/07/2008 14:24

PinkTulips - I am like you!!! Tops every 2-3 days because that is when they get dirty, skirts and trousers less so maybe 4-5 days but new undies every day.

cocolepew · 15/07/2008 15:12

Aaahh, but all you people who don't wash after 1 wear, don't wear the same top on consecitive days. Is it because you don't want people to know, you don't wash after 1 wear or do you just have vast wardrobes?

I wear all clothes until they need washing. Which with a toddler and a propensity to split my lunch down myself generally means once.

Dropdeadfred · 15/07/2008 16:36

Don't any of you admit that putting on clothes for the first time straight out of the dryer, smelling of lenor...hmmmmm lovely is much better than the 2nd or 3rd time?

Monkeytrousers · 15/07/2008 17:01

Don't use fabric conditioner.

MN goes

Monkeytrousers · 15/07/2008 17:02

I wear the same top on collective days. I can't say anyone notices - I don't.

Monkeytrousers · 15/07/2008 17:04

ANd only use half the amount of non brand non bio wahing power than it says your suposed to.

I don;t stink

ThingOne · 15/07/2008 17:08

Bloody hell - how do those of you with small children manage to keep your clothes clean enough to wear more than once? I mean, sometimes things escape unscathed but usually there is a good dollop of humous from DS2 who grabs as I wipe him post meals, never mind any mess of my own I may make.

Starmummy · 15/07/2008 17:27

Everything once only unless cardie or jacket thats been over another top.
Only use half washing powder, do use fabric conditioner.
Never had a problem with clothes wearing out, some stuff does get bobbles on it, like cotton jersey, wool cardies but only after ages and ages.

Long thcik very curly hair so only every other day but shower once or twice a day.

DS clean school clothes every day and generally everything else only once.
DH clean work clothes everyday, same shorts for maybe 2 or 3 days, clean t shirt every day. Suits cleaned after 3 wears.

maidamess · 15/07/2008 17:31

In a bid to (a) save money and (b) be more eco friendly I am currently managing to make one pair of knickers last 4 days.

Right way round
Wrong way round
Inside out right way round
Inside out wrong way round.

Its not quite so comfy with a thong.

Knickers - once
Bras - well it depends what I'm wearing them under! I only do one load of washing a week, so if I needed a black bra everyday during that week, it could be worn everyday
Trousers - dry cleaned once a week
Jeans - only ever washed if something gets spilled on them
Tops - worn once unless it's something loose that was worn over another top

I shower everyday and wash hair once or twice a week (curly hair that's impossible to dry)

Hulababy · 15/07/2008 18:40

I change things when I think they need it. So trousers/skirts esp jeans will last a few days, dresses a few days, tops one ot two days, underwear daily.

I don't wear them one day after another often - just have worn clothes at one side of wardrobe, unworn at other.

Have similar rules for DD now she is older too.

I can't see the point in making excess washing and ironing.

belcantavinissima · 15/07/2008 18:53

wow! am really shocked that most of you wear items of clothes just once before washing!!! are you all really sweaty/smelly/dirty? my clothes dont get washed for ages and i def am most fragrant! i have quite a few clothes tho so dont wear same thing over and over again day aftyer day.
knickers i change every day, i dont wear socks, change my bra prob once a week . actually i am a bit about the bra thing but it doesnt smell i promise
