Is this ok for MOTB

Daughter is having a registry office wedding, family only, followed by a meal in a local restaurant. Colour theme is navy and lilac. So I’m not going to go full on MOTB. What do you think to this dress? I would wear lilac heels and carry a lilac clutch.

That’s nice yes

Paradoes · Yesterday 17:53

That is stunning. I would get a nice hair piece (doesnt have to be full on)

Have a lovely day

Hellohelga · Yesterday 17:54

That dress is so pretty. Navy and lilac is a great colour scheme. I love navy.

It’s a really nice dress but when you said you were going to go ‘full on’ I was anticipating something more dramatic I must confess.

I said that I was NOT going full on.

If it was a church wedding or stately home wedding with a large guest list I would not wear this dress I have shared.

I would!

That's a very specific colour scheme! At least you can make sure, if it's only family, that no-one else will be wearing the same dress, as the colour scheme does increase that possibility.

The dress is perfectly nice, but I'm not sure that lilac accessories will match? Maybe the floral print is a different tone in reality - but when I zoom in its navy with green & a warm, slightly dirty, earthy pink? This bag & heels are what I would call lilac/lavender shades, & they don't go together that well IMO ...

But you can get many shades of lilac (and it gets called other things, like purple, when it isn't!). So just an example of a pale lilac bag in a very different shade to the one you've posted, @EleanorMc67 .

I’d go full out.

Pretty bag, but it's still lilac - & the flowers in the dress aren't! If they were a cool pink it would be fine, but they're a warm brownish/peachy pink - so I don't think they go with lilac - or purple, or lavender, or mauve! Just my opinion - which is what the OP asked for & is free to ignore!

Sahara123 · Yesterday 19:43

That’s a beautiful dress, go for it ! Have a lovely day.

Motnight · Yesterday 19:44

Love the dress, Op.

AltitudeCheck · Yesterday 19:55

Lovely dress 😍

If you can't find a complimentary lilac shade for bag and shoes I think navy or nude or neutral metallic would be fine and still within the dress code.

Karistyleaftea · Yesterday 19:59

Perfectly gorgeous,
Enjoy a wonderful day!

RedSpotTeaPot · Yesterday 20:32

It's lovely.

Calliopespa · Yesterday 20:36

I quite like it OP.

I think I'd accessorise with navy heels and navy clutch - firstly because there will be more choice, but also because I think @EleanorMc67 is right in saying the flowers are more pink than navy. HOWEVER if you accessorise with navy, you might just manage not to draw attention to that.

Katherineryan1986 · Yesterday 20:52

@EleanorMc67

I think you’re right about the flower colour, they are more pink than lilac. Now I’m having 2nd thoughts about the dress.

I will just say that I haven’t seen the dress in real life yet. I’ve ordered it online.

I also ordered this

Agree with you & @AltitudeCheck that navy - or a cool metallic perhaps, like pewter - would be best for accessories. Not a fan of nude shoes, personally.
