Beautiful bag I’ll never use - suggestions for where/how to sell?

Afternoon all hoping for some suggestions …

Probably over 10+ years ago I treated myself to a gorgeous leather bag from Joules. It’s truly beautiful and you can still smell the leather ☺️ I’ve looked after it on the handful of times I’ve used it but it is showing some signs of wear but overall is still in excellent condition. I reckon I paid on excess of £100 for it

I have decided to try and sell it as I don’t really wear it, I find it awkward to use due to handles and it takes up a surprising amount of cupboard space. Plus I just feel guilty every time I see it for the money I paid vs joy it brings me.

Any ideas of the safest way to sell? Vinted is like the wild west these days, ditto Facebook or similar. I have only ever used eBay once to purchase so don’t know about selling.

Thanks in advance ☺️

Definitely Vinted

Arlanymor · 20/10/2026 14:05

Sell it on Vinted if you have a price in mind. Sell it on eBay if you'd rather set a reserve and auction it (you can also set a 'make me an offer' option too). I find eBay more varied than Vinted both in terms of what is available and methods to sell/pay/deliver. But it's all just personal choice at the end of the day.

Laptopbop · 20/10/2026 14:05

Vinted but it’s not in great condition so I’d be surprised if you got much for it.

DoneAdulting · 20/10/2026 14:06

It’s nice but not really in fashion, or a luxury/sought after brand. I think Vinted is probably the best place to try sell it. Do an image search on there to see if there are any others and how much they are on for.
I think you’d be very lucky to get £20 for it, I think £10 is more realistic.

Mosaic123 · 20/10/2026 14:06

Vinted. Definitely.

Lexy2345 · 20/10/2026 14:07

You're not going to get a huge sum of money for it. Why are you against Vinted? How big is it?

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 20/10/2026 14:08

Fair enough ☺️
My reservations about Vinted are more concerns with some scuzz ball scamming me but maybe if I’ve still got it gathering dust in a year I’ll go for it

Could you use to store items such as scarves, hats and gloves maybe

I guess it’s quite niche as well as it open with the clasp with a frame at the top, a bit like a doctors bag.

God I think I’d rather give it away than accept a tenner! 😳

It's very worn looking.I'd be amazed if it sold. Still worth a try on either vintage or ebay.

Ineedanewsofa · 20/10/2026 14:13

That’s defo one for Vinted but don’t be offended if no one will pay what you want for it, Joules isn’t a high end brand and has no residual value even if you did pay over £100 for it.
Not saying that to be mean but if you genuinely want it gone and out of the way you need price accordingly, otherwise it’ll just sit in the cupboard for another year!

That’s what I’ve been doing but after a sort out I got rid of those too!

I’ll have a think and maybe charity it.

I’ve just image searched this on Vinted. There is one the same but which looks in better condition for sale for £40. However it’s been for sale for seven months. So you might get 20/30 for it.

That’s helpful thank you.

And how do you image search it?!! That sounds like a useful thing to know!

I’d agree that £10-20 is the max you would get on Vinted for it. I would stick it on there and see if you get any takers, if not (or even in the first instance) I would then charity shop it - it’s probably the kind of thing someone would appreciate in person and pay a bit more money for (win for the charity)

I’m leaning towards this, thanks

On the search tab on Vinted there is a photo symbol. Just press that and add your picture. It search’s for the same or similar. It’s really handy

XelaM · 20/10/2026 14:18

Can you not treat the leather with something to get rid of all the scratches? It looks scratched and dry. Maybe some leather oil will work on it? Don't take my word for it though - it's what my daughter uses on her leather saddle

TofuTuesday · 20/10/2026 14:18

I’ve sold nearly new Coach handbags on Vinted for £40. Have a new Moschino and looked at Vestiare, best price was around the same. I don’t think unless designer bags hold any value.

UserName00747 · 20/10/2026 14:20

This is the £40 one. I'd start at 35-40 and see if you get any interest
