Has anyone switched to autumn clothes and started wearing jumpers yet

Who’s transitioned to autumn wear? Is it safe to get out all the jumpers / knit wear / boots / tights / cosy socks etc??

I’ve not been paying attention when out and about so need inspiration 😂

Every time I decide to wear a jumper, the weather warms up again!

seanconneryseyebrow · 05/10/2026 09:51

Yeh 2 weeks ago!

friedaklein · 05/10/2026 09:52

I wish! So unseasonably warm and humid in London.

Logsonthefire2 · 05/10/2026 09:52

Yeah then it’s suddenly in the 20s and I feel too hot :(

hexsnidgett · 05/10/2026 09:54

No, it has been 20°C and over since May where I live. I would love to wear a jumper.

DeafLeppard · 05/10/2026 09:55

Merino wool v neck on today. It's cold in the mornigns and then boiling by lunchtime:/

Autumnallaround · 05/10/2026 09:55

No! Cashmere still in the wardrobe.

I'm wearing wide leg cropped linen trousers with a broderie anglaise blouse today. Had the aircon on on the way to work.

I wore flip flops all weekend it was so hot yesterday!

BelleEpoque27 · 05/10/2026 10:17

Nope, not in the south yet. Today was the first day I wore a jacket for the school run though (with a t-shirt underneath). It's going to be 23 degrees here this afternoon!

Looks like Wednesday will be the first really autumnal day, with rain and only 16 degrees. Might be a jumper day.

gravitarse · 05/10/2026 10:20

No

EmpressStorm · 05/10/2026 10:28

No. 21 here today. Was in London yesterday and wearing a sleeveless blouse as so warm

TheOGCCL · 05/10/2026 10:37

Summer hasn't stopped yet in London but maybe this week. Jumpers have felt far too hot.

Goodwitchglenda · 05/10/2026 10:41

Still bare legs over here! Child in the garden in shorts and t-shirt yesterday

Puppylucky · 05/10/2026 10:42

I'm wearing knitted vests over t-shirts as it is now getting a bit chilly out of the sun.

TalonOfDuty · 05/10/2026 10:45

Yesterday morning was 3C when I took the dog out at 7am but it was 19C and sunny after lunch.! It's such a mixed bag of weather and temperatures at the moment!

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 05/10/2026 10:45

I’ve carried a jumper or jacket around with me a bit last week. It’s supposed to be highs of 14 on Thursday round here, which I think signals the start of weather change. Thinking Thursday might be first black tights and boots day for work.

RedRiverShore6 · 05/10/2026 10:45

No, it's forecast 21 - 22 today so still in summer clothes, it's going to get a bit cooler though in a few days.

Iloveshihtzus · 05/10/2026 10:49

No, every time I put on a jumper, the temperature jumps to 20 and I wish I had worn something else. On my commute last week, there were lots of younger women wearing black coats and boot - really odd as by lunchtime it was 23 degrees!!

I think people are more confused by warmer weather in September/October than a heatwave in July. It is easier to dress for 35 degrees versus 25 degrees; but hard to dress for 25 degrees when the morning temperature is 8 or 9 degrees.

Purplecatshopaholic · 05/10/2026 10:56

Sadly yes - I’m in central Scotland though, lol. It’s often four seasons in one day here though, so we’ve had warm moments then the next minute you need to scrape your car, lol.

MummyOre · 05/10/2026 11:01

No! Its,way to warn. T-shirts and short sleeve tops are fine.

BestZebbie · 05/10/2026 11:02

Yes - I'm most comfy at about 23C, so I have been wearing thick trousers, a light jumper (or dressing gown/oodie over clothes to be extra cosy if no-one will see me) and slipper boots with fluffy socks at home during the day for the last week or so. Without slippers my feet are properly cold, although the jumper worked for outside without a coat.
I'm assuming it will be time to move to a heavy jumper and leggings under my trousers/a blanket at my desk when the clocks change, if not before.

boredsmored · 05/10/2026 11:06

it’s still warm

TheBayHorse · 05/10/2026 11:09

Yes I'm in the north west and have been wearing jumpers for ages. We had our wood burner on yesterday.

I'm going to London for work later today and was surprised when I checked the weather. I think my clothes are going to be too warm.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 05/10/2026 11:35

Bonkers weather, 8 yesterday at 9 when I took doggo out, 2 hours later it was 19 and I was sweating like a sweaty thing

Raiderofthelostbattenburg · 05/10/2026 11:43

Cardingans but not yet jumpers, they've mostly ended up on the back of my chair or round my waist by lunchtime though. I WISH I could transition to Autmn clothes.

QuestionableCardigan · 05/10/2026 11:45

I’ve put away my summer clothes and got out the winter clothes but having to wear some weird in-between concoctions atm whilst it’s still so warm!
