Non- gunty jeans

Please help a gal out here.

I have recently put on a lot of weight, it’s medication and I’m working on sensible ways of losing it but in the meantime EVERY SINGLE pair of trousers I have is gunty. I have one skirt and one pair of black trousers which don’t make me look like shit but everything looks horrendous. I’d love some advice on styles that won’t make me look terrible but also go with “my vibe”. Said vibe is lots of sage, burgundy and brown, comfy vibes but still okay for the odd meeting. I love the look of tucking my many shirts into my trousers (long live the French tuck) but am avoiding it like the plague atm - if I do tuck; gunt. If I don’t tuck; massive. Please help!

The word reminds me of 90s-era misogyny and loser men laughing about it. Disgusting.

A waisted top! Like a shirt, but with shirring or a self tie. It reduces the voluminous top and gives you shape, while still covering the unflattering lower torso.

I have a light jumper that is somehow shaped to fitted closely all the way to my jeans, then smooths down to the hip joint carefully covering my worst areas.

Ooh yes! I like this very much! Thank you ☺️

To everyone having a shit show about the word “gunt”, what would you prefer me to use? It is literally the best word to describe it, so…..?

It is really is a good word. My friend is hugely overweight and she uses ‘gunt’ about herself regularly.

My main advice as a bit of a chunker myself is this:
don’t wear loose stuff all the time- it doesn’t slim you down.
BUT wear tight trousers with looser top OR looser trousers (I like loose flared slouchy ones with side pockets I got in Primark) but with a snug top.

Just say fat gut and cunt

That'll really get the pearl clutchers frothing at the mouth 😂

Well, I use the word ‘fat’ about myself. Would probably cry or shout or… well, be extremely upset if I heard someone describe my stomach as a gunt. It’s repulsive - and in my experience, used by repulsive men.

Thicker denim, high enough rise, not much stretch. Don’t worry about the size on the label. Obviously most people won’t actually be looking but I know it can make a difference to your confidence.

Two good insta accounts I've followed that have been really useful with my gunty issues

Good shapewear knickers or all in one bodies are great to start with.
There are lots more mid size clothing accounts with shopping hauls, recommendations and try ons.
I've gone from a size 22 to a 14, it's now about finding what suits me. For me that's Halara high waist flared or wide leg jeans, fat face blouses/jumpers, bonprix fitted denim jacket with stretch, shirred top dresses, shirt dresses, fitted denim shirts.
