Any idea how to deal with this affliction anyone??

Me too. I have a mens nostril hair electric powered thing I use once a week. That keeps it all under control.

Another shocking discovery made in the car or on the train when you no tweezers or scissors. I have very tiny nail scissors that I use along with a magnifying mirror. Grooming is grim business.

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 18/09/2026 15:10

You can pluck them but it hurts and makes you sneeze!

WomenAndChildrenFirst · 18/09/2026 15:14

thanks for this thread. I've been plucking but without much success as there are a lot of hairs. The trimmer should make it easier.

and ... how likely am I to get ear hair?

Fairydusthello · 18/09/2026 18:31

Yoffee nose wax

BlackSwan · 18/09/2026 19:26

Laser.

MmeGallimaufry · 18/09/2026 20:10

Good grief. Is this what I have to look forward to? I thought nose hair was a bloke thing.

I'm not sure I have it in me to deal with a hairy nose on top of everything else. I'm already coming to the conclusion that, contrary to popular opinion, older people don't moan nearly enough about how grim getting old is.

Saintsgirl7 · 18/09/2026 20:35

Hot wax every few weeks

TurquoiseGoldPeaches · 18/09/2026 21:34

Yoffee nose wax

I’d that insanely painful?

It’s right there looking at me in the mirror ☹️

Painful?

OldWallpaper · 18/09/2026 21:42

I pluck the fuckers. It doesn’t hurt anymore.

PadamPadamPDoom · 18/09/2026 22:13

Fucking hell, that electric trimmer is one of the most terrifying implements I’ve over seen.

(I must have one!)

RobertaFirmino · 18/09/2026 22:54

I use a dermaplaner up there.

I don’t think so probably depends on your pain threshold but no more than a lip or eyebrow wax.

PadamPadamPDoom · 18/09/2026 23:14

Oh, I have a dermaplaner (the Tweezerman one). May give that a try …

Yes. I did once. Never again.

MurphysColeslaw · 18/09/2026 23:25

Nose hair is one of those horrifying things you discover when your eyesight starts getting a bit iffy and you need to buy a magnifying mirror to do your makeup better.
The first time you use it you shout ‘Holy fucking shit’

Pumpkinsaregrowingnicely · 18/09/2026 23:35

Hot flannel up the nostril then pluck..

Pengane · 19/09/2026 00:19

This is a fantastic product! Heat the tub in the microwave, to liquify the wax, dip the plastic tool into the wax and then put into your nostril. Leave for maybe 20 seconds and then whip out. It removes loads of hair and is most satisfying!

Tip: put the used tools into just boiled water, to remove the wax. You can then reuse them (the pot of wax lasts a long time!).

Pengane · 19/09/2026 00:22

In terms of pain - it’s a smart but it’s not agony. It’s soon over.
Don’t leave the wax to set for too long as it will become brittle and that’s when removal can be problematic

doveinitial · 19/09/2026 07:17

I use a wee bit veet hair remover. It blows my mind what comes out.

MeAndMyGhost · 19/09/2026 07:20

Be careful with the nose waxing. I loved the results but got terribly painful ingrown hairs in my nose, that were bumpy and unsightly. I leave well alone now, using nail scissors instead.

dudsville · 19/09/2026 08:16

Ah, this is awful. When I was young I got the occasional chin hairs. Now, in menopause, no chin hairs, but eyebrows and nose hair havw gone squirrelly. I have the scary trimmer linked above. Warning: don't get overly enthusiastic with it. The grow back feels uncomfortablely spikey.
