It's been a little quiet on the exciting edit and beauty releases front what with all the advent malarky but summer is drawing to a close and soon those autumn/winter releases and holiday edits will be popping up to tempt us.

I've just dug out my tripollar RF and being more dedicated to my red light mask due to this. Looked in bathroom mirror with glasses on - wish I hadn't, what happened to my forehead.

I wish you could just do the fragrance gwp from snk, I'd like that but not fussed about the beauty one.

This how they get you. Smart move because loads of people will want the fragrance more than the beauty.

Yes I think this was a clever marketing tactic from them - I only really wanted the scent edit but had to spend a lot to get it! Maybe some will turn up on Vinted or via the fairy.

Yes, I'm only interested in the frgarance GWP too and the spend is way too high for me to justify it. Will give it a few days and see which perfumes are on ebay/vinted.

The main GWP adds automatically but you don't see the scent one until you go to check out, where you choose between the hair and fragrance ones.

Anyone want to share what they're buying to get to £220 for inspiration? I'm same it's fragrance that appeals.

I got the 30ml AB Retinol for the spurious reasons I justified up thread. It's my only expensive wish list item. I did have £40 in vouchers to use so may have thought twice otherwise. Also if I was buying the SNK advent I would have skipped this.

I'm liking the P'sC Dual pro retinal. Tall purple It's in the CB advent and my sensitive peri skin is fine with it. I'm still working my way through the AB retinol but if I do a retinol repurchase it would be the PC.

H Beauty Carnival tickets seem to be on sale. Until you get to the ticket page, all the dates are wrong - are they last year's? MetroCentre is half term so might be giving it a miss ☹️

I've just finished the PC 1% retinol which I was impressed with so one of the reasons I'm going for the CB BAC.

Tbh percentage wise I'm not sure the AB retinol is particularly effective as a retinol but it just seems to work well as a nice serum. Not one I can buy on the regular hence my disappointment at it not being in an advent. Even AB themselves haven't put it in their silly price advent.

I'm hoping the Murad retinol in Elle works for me. Reviews aren't quite as good as the PC but I'm tolerating the Murad night cream from the same range (retinal from the Debenhams edit) well so fingers crossed. I agree about the Bader so saving it for when it gets cooler and my skin less tolerant and focusing on the PC at the mo.

MZ skin rich cream. My cheap one from TK Maxx ran out a while ago and I've really missed it. I could have bought it 20% cheaper from CB so a pretty bad decision on my part 🙈

Other recent (expensive) purchases to qualify for GWPs/take advantage of sales/20% offs have been sisley black rose, a thermal blow dry brush and lots of unnecessary makeup. Plus stocking up on full sizes of all my HGs.

I bet it turns up in the HN one now that you've bought it 🙈 that's what usually ends up happening to me. I just bought the Fugazzi Pomegranoudgh after thinking about it for months and then it turns up in the CB AC 😭🤣🙄

I completely agree with your last line😂But it's great when you find something that works for you apart from when they're ridculously expendive. I've got some black rose minis I need to try.

Is the 'use-it-up' technique maybe the problem? Using too many products? What are you using?

Ahh, I am a sucker for any kind of fragrance gwp so there was no chance of me not spending £220 on Space NK 🤦🏻‍♀️ I did however create a new account to get 20% off and got 4 grooming edits some of which I will use xmas stockings and will sell the rest. I was making Chat GPT work hard to try and decipher the contents of spritz gwp and it appears it relies on mums met knowledge as well as other sources 😂

Good question! I don’t think it’s the use-it-up in itself but it could be.

I do this:

COSRX skin barrier moisturising mist
Byoma toner
Serum - currently Anua 7+ ceramide
Medik8 C tetra - 4-5 drops
Moisturiser - a small dot
SPF

I think it might be the mist. I’m fairly sure I have it placed properly, based on the directions. But maybe I just don’t need it right now.

And it starts fairly early on so by the serum I’m already feeling sticky. I’ve only really noticed it this week as the weather has cooled. Before I was hot anyway so didn’t notice it among the shiny face issues!!

Too many barrier treatments and ceramides maybe?

Which Byoma toner? If it's the hydrating one then I think you're probably using too many hydrating products with similar ingredients. I'd only use one of the moisturising mist/hydrating toner/serum products, then vit C, moisturiser and SPF. You could use the mist on top of all that if needed.

I am trying very hard to resist the Space NK GWP and frag add on. It’s a good one compared to what I’ve seen recently, particularly on spend thresholds.
