Boots to wear with M&S carrot jeans ?

Vintageroses · 17/08/2026 12:43

As recommended on here I bought some M and S carrot leg jeans. They are great for me being 5ft 2 size 8. Can anyone recommend me some boots to go with them for the coming autumn / winter ? I always struggle with boots , hate anything pointy, have wide feet. Need to be flat.

Waiting for image. Sorry.

Poetry £590!
Have been waiting for ages for them to come down in price, but they haven't; even less reason for the price to drop as autumn approaches, I think

I don't have a suggestion, sorry, but was also thinking of starting a general boot thread. Lots of posters talk about wearing outfits with trainers in summer/boots in winter and I would be curious as to what style! Also looking for wide toe box but not massively chunky everywhere else as I have skinny ankles and it looks ridiculous on me.

I found some boots I loved a few years ago.

Soft leather with a low wedge heel and come in an arrange of colours.

i wear smock dresses and trainers to work in warm weather and the dresses with tights and these boots when it’s cold.

They have a nice wide toe to them

I don’t have carrot jeans (on wish list) but I wear these boots with my other jeans. I bought them a year or two ago after looking for ages for the right shape. Slight eye roll at the ‘vegan leather’ but I love them so much. I might get another pair this year. I was also considering moshulu and another brand I can’t recall the name of right now.

Currently being sorely tempted by these (they have lower shaft and also chunkier models but these are the sleekest with the highest shaft):

https://lanxshoes.com/collections/womens-chelsea-boots/products/edisford-caramel

They're a D width fitting which google assures me is a wide fit, which is putting me off (I have narrow feet!)

They're not cheap, but they're made in the UK, and apparently you can send them back to the company and have them refurbished so they should last forever. https://lanxshoes.com/pages/re-lanx

D isn't a wide fitting. It's standard. E is wide fit.

I'm a big fan of Chelsea boots, I have Fly ones in 4 different colours. Go with everything and have a great grip too.

Thanks to this thread I now have brought a pair of timberland trainers - I didn’t know those junior sizes went so high.

I needed new autumn / winter trainers and these were a nice price.

Branleuse · 19/08/2026 10:32

I think a bootee low boot would look better, although I think trainers would look best

Velcro on shoes has no place in Style & beauty. Good point about the sizes.

For winter hanging around shoes -not sure I care much. I might even replace the regular laces with elastic ones so only need to do up the Velcro. 😱

BleedinglyObvious · 19/08/2026 13:20

Elastic laces are great. I used to have some curly ones.

The trainers are fine btw, but not the yellow. What colour did you get?

The green ones. Just for casual stomping around winter shoes

BleedinglyObvious · 19/08/2026 14:01

I have some 'trainers' that look nice but aren't all that comfortable. It defeats the object.

The green ones are a nice colour and a bargain. There were some nice Timberland boots in TKMaxx yesterday but I didn't check the size. I have far too many boots already but since this thread I've remembered some nice but IMO dated Barbour boots I have that might look good with carrot jeans.

They aren't any of Women's Boots | Ladies Flat & Ankle Boots | Barbour unfortunately.
They're more like eBay link (not mine). I don't have the jeans in question and I can't remember when I last wore the boots.

BleedinglyObvious · 19/08/2026 15:30

@Kepler22B , your green Timberlands are far nicer than some on Trainers for A/w - what are you wearing? | Mumsnet

Blundstones, love mine.

My last pair lasted for 8 years of very heavy wear, the soles wore out, and I bought a new pair. Even my kids would wear them if I wasn't.

I just wish they could be resoled.

I also liked these possibly but the reviews aren’t good with people complaining that the leather peels. I think it’s because they are vegan leather. Has anyone had any experience of that ?

Don't do it. Plastic boots will not stand rain and they get sweaty.

The only barrel jeans I’ve tried were some hush ones and they just swamped me. The carrot jeans are said to have the barrel shape without the volume which I think is right. I got size 8 short and I think they look quite nice.
I’d like Chelsea boots with a wide toe box and not too chunky, if they even exist !
let me know if you’ve seen any nice ones. I usually prefer brown to black.

Not sure specifically if they will go well with your jeans, but best boots I have found recently with a wide toe box are Rocket Dog. I have wide feet and their boots and trainers all fit me well. I have these in brown from a couple of years ago, but they also have some chelsea styles too

Craftsman boots. They're one piece of leather so minimal rubbing at seams, beautiful colour to them, and designed for the outback so pretty rugged. Says they're men's but they're sold as unisex in the UK.

I buy vegan leather plastic boots from heavenly feet. One pair have gone through 2 rainy Download festivals and survived 😊

IFancyABaconSarnie · 19/08/2026 22:48

WTF are carrot jeans?! 😂
Do they do an asparagus top to complete the outfit? 😂
