Boots to wear with M&S carrot jeans ?

As recommended on here I bought some M and S carrot leg jeans. They are great for me being 5ft 2 size 8. Can anyone recommend me some boots to go with them for the coming autumn / winter ? I always struggle with boots , hate anything pointy, have wide feet. Need to be flat.

WTF are carrot jeans?! 😂
Do they do an asparagus top to complete the outfit? 😂

Sigh!

I also liked these possibly but the reviews aren’t good with people complaining that the leather peels. I think it’s because they are vegan leather. Has anyone had any experience of that ?

I linked a slightly different style of this boot above and I’ve had no issues with peeling or sweating. They’re extremely comfortable.

I don't have the carrot jeans, but I'm a big barrel jeans person so similar shape. To me they need something low on the leg, or something that completely covers the ankle. My preference is low profile trainers like Sambas with proper socks, or DM Church boots (which are a kind of hybrid between a shoe and a boot, very "short"), but I think a sock boot that gives good ankle coverage would work well if that's your style.

@Thatfattrollop good to know. I’ve ordered a pair of Barbour boots from Next to try as I needed something else from there but there’s a good chance they will be going back !

Hello! Just wanted to say thank you for this - whilst DM Church are outside my budget I now understand the shape I should be looking for (Monkey Boots in old language!) which will help in my autumn/ winter boot search 🙂

Try NPS Solovair Womens Monkey Boots (or Solovair Outlet Monkey Boots seconds but very good value)

If you have cats dont have vegan pleather. All my vegan shoes are covered in holes from their claws. They just love the stuff, it must feel nice under their claws. All my other shoes are fine.

I follow the influencer/stylist Claire Lopez on instagram and saw a reel just today about this. She recommends a slim ankle boot like a sock boot that reaches up under the hem of the jean leg.
She modelled them with a pair of M&S suede kitten heel pointed ankle boots in chocolate suede.
Looked great and I bought a pair (although carrot legged jeans are not for me. Wrong shape).

Hello! Are we on the wrong board? Yes, monkey boots. I have the Church in both black and oxblood, but I got them on Depop for a fraction of the retail price - Vinted and Depop are great for DMs because people give up on them when they realise they are tricky to break in!

I think all of these are still too clumpy. Carrot /barrel jeans work with a much narrower shape which is why trainers look good. I tend to switch to high tops in leather or suede in the winter.

I tend to agree. I find that boots look odd with many jeans (unless the jeans are very dark sometimes). They are much easier to wear with trainers/ even high tops.

Jerrybalanitis · 20/08/2026 21:02

Shoes to match the invisible cloak 😀. Only 16 year old girls should look at carrots. And barrels should be illegal

Puppylucky · 20/08/2026 22:07

See I really don't get this attitude. Jeans are universal and the shape should be dictated by body shape not age. I am short with a true hourglass figure ( small waist and wider hips) and have always looked amazing in carrot or narrow balloon jeans and trousers (aka pegs in my youth) as they follow the curve of my body and emphasis my waist. Skinny jeans look as rubbish on me now as they did when I was 15.

BleedinglyObvious · 20/08/2026 22:37

@Jerrybalanitis , do they need to be thrown out when the girl has her 17th birthday?

PEGS! Aw that takes me back, when are they coming back in. I was thinking the kilt must come back last year - do you remember wearing those with patterned tights and Ravel court shoes!! 😍
